Bertujuan mendeskripsikan korelasi antara kemampuan membaca dan kemampuan
menulis teks negosiasi siswa kelas x SMA Negeri 1 Mutiara, korelasi antara
penguasaan struktur kalimat dan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi siswa kelas x
SMA Negeri 1 Mutiara, dan korelasi antara kemampuan membaca, penguasaan
struktur kalimat dan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi siswa kelas x SMA Negeri 1
Mutiara. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode korelatif. Jenis
adalah penelitian korelatif. Teknik pengumpulan adalah teknik tes untuk ketiga
variabel, yaitu tes kemampuan membaca, tes penguasaan struktur kalimat, dan tes
kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi. Data penelitian diolah secara korelatif. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) nilai korelasi (r) antara kemampuan membaca dan
kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi sebesar -0,225 menunjukkan hubungan rendah.
Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel kemampuan membaca dan
variabel kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi. Dengan demikian, Ha diterima dan H0
ditolak (2) nilai korelasi (r) antara penguasan struktur kalimat dan kemampuan
menulis teks negosiasi sebesar 0,212 menunjukkan hubungan rendah. Terdapat
hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel penguasaan struktur kalimat dan variabel
kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi. Dengan demikian, Ha dinyatakan diterima dan
H0 ditolak (3) nilai korelasi (r) antarvariabel kemampuan membaca, penguasaan
struktur kalimat dan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi sebesar 0,267 menunjukkan
hubungan yang rendah. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan
membaca, penguasaan struktur kalimat dan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi.
Dengan demikian, Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak.

This study aims to describe the correlation between reading ability and ability of
writing negotiation text of grade X students at State Senior High School 1 Mutiara,
correlation between the mastery of sentence structure and the ability of writing
negotiation text of Grade X students in State Senior High School 1 Mutiara.
Moreover, the research is an attempt to define the correlation between reading
ability, sentence structure mastery and the ability of writing negotiation text of Grade
X in Senior High School 1 Mutiara. The research approach used in this study was
quantitative with correlative method. The type of this research is correlative research.
The data collection technique used for the three variables is reading comprehension
test, sentence structure mastery test, writing test of negotiation text. The data was
analyzed correlatively. The result of the analysis shows that (1) the correlation (r)
value between reading ability and ability of writing the negotiation text is at -0.225
which is low. Thus, there is significant correlation between the reading ability
variable and ability of writing the negotiation text variable. Therefore, Ha is accepted
and H0 is rejected. (2) the correlation (r) value between sentence structure mastery
and ability of writing the negotiation text is at 0.212 which is low. Therefore, there is
significant correlation between sentence structure mastery and ability of writing the
negotiation text. Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. (3) the correlation (r) value
between variable of reading ability, sentence structure mastery, and ability of writing
the negotiation text is at 0.267 which is low. Therefore, there is significant
correlation between reading ability, sentence structure mastery, and the ability of
writing negotiation text. Thus, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.
