ZAINAL ABIDIN GENERAL HOSPITAL BANDA ACEH IN 2012. ABSTRACT Diabetes is a chronic and lasts a lifetime. Patiens with diabetes mellitus must have good insuin therapy adherence therapy to normalize blood glucose and in addition to improve the whole metaabolisme aspect. The research aims to knom the correlation of family support with insulin therapy adherence among patiens with type 2 diabetes mellitus. the research used descriptive collerational method with cross sectional study design; data collection technic is purposive sampling for 70 samples. The data analysis used chi-square test by using computer software. The data analysis obtained that there is correlation social values (p-value: 0,032), evalution support (p-value:0), addtional support (p-value: 0,007), emotional support (p-value: 0,003) with insulin therapy adherence. Overall, there is family support (p-value: 0,007) with insulin therapy adherence among patiens with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The conclution of the research is that there is correlation of family support with insulin therapy adherence among patiens with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the endocrine polyclinic of dr. Zainoel Abidin general hospital Banda Aceh. It is suggested to nurses in the endocrine polyclinic to provide health education relate to health and focus on insulin therapy for patiens with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
