Industri mode yang terus berkembang seiring berjalannya waktu dan berkembangnya kebudayaan manusia terhadap gaya hidup yang lebih baik menjadi dasar dari perancangan Pusat Mode ini. Pusat Mode di Banda Aceh merupakan sebuah fasilitas yang mewadahi kegiatan desainer dan kegiatan masyarakat yang tertarik dalam dunia mode. Kegiatan tersebut meliputi kegiatan pelayanan informasi perkembangan mode, peragaan busana, pameran, pemasaran produk-produk buatan desainer daerah maupun nasional, dan pendidikan mode. Sehingga fasilitas ini dapat menjadi tempat yang nyaman bagi komunitas pecinta mode serta meningkatkan apresiasi masyarakat terhadap dunia mode di Indonesia, khususnya Banda Aceh.

Lokasi perancangan Pusat Mode terletak di kawasan pusat kota lama, yaitu Jl. Mohammad Jam, kota Banda Aceh yang merupakan kawasan perdagangan dan jasa. Kawasan ini juga merupakan pusat kawasan islam. Dengan adanya bangunan pusat mode ini diharapkan dapat mendukung citra dari masyarakat Aceh karena karakteristik masyarakat akan terlihat dari busana yang dikenakan.

Perkembangan mode busana saat ini tidak pernah terlepas dari mode busana pada masa lampau, oleh karena itu, konsep dasar yang digunakan yaitu perancangan sebuah bangunan yang menggabungkan unsur modern dan tradisional. Sehingga dapat menghadirkan bangunan yang konteks dengan lingkungan. Dengan memilih tema Arsitektur Simbolisme bangunan Pusat Mode diharapkan dapat menjadi icon mode di Banda Aceh, khususnya mode busana muslim.

The fashion industry that continues to grow as his running time and the development of human culture to the better life style became the basis of the design for this Fashion Center. The Fashion Center in Banda Aceh is a facility who nurtured the activity designer and community activities that are interested in the fashion world. These activities include the development of fashion information service, fashion show, exhibition, marketing of products made by local and national designers and fashion education. So this facilities can be a comfortable place for a community of lovers mode as well as enhancing apreciation society of the fashion world in Indonesia, especially in Banda Aceh.

The design location of Fashion Center was on the old town center at St. Muhammad Jam, Banda Aceh district which is the area of trade and services. This area is also a center for islamic area. With the fashion center building is expected to support the image of the people of Aceh because characteristics of the community will be seen from the clothing worn.

The development of the current fashion never regardless of fashion past. Therefore, the basic concept is used that is designing a building that combines modern and traditional elements. So, the building could bring the context with the environment. By choosing the symbolism architecture theme, fashion center building is expected to become a fashion icon in Banda Aceh, especially muslim fashion.
