ABSTRAK &#13;
&#13;
DAS Seunagan merupakan DAS yang mempunyai peranan sangat penting&#13;
terhadap terpenuhinya kebutuhan air masyarakat di Kabupaten Nagan Raya dan&#13;
sebagian Kabupaten Aceh Barat dan Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Kondisi DAS&#13;
Seunagan semakin hari semakin kritis yang ditandai dengan banyaknya aktifitas di&#13;
dalam dan di sekitar DAS Seunagan dalam bentuk penambangan, alih fungsi&#13;
lahan dan lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya produksi&#13;
sedimen tahunan yang terjadi pada DAS Seunagan, Sediment Delivery Ratio&#13;
(SDR) dan laju erosi lahan serta merekomendasikan usaha konservasi lahan. Dari &#13;
hasil analisa produksi sedimen tahunan pada sub-sub DAS Seunagan didapat bahwa&#13;
produksi sedimen yang paling besar terjadi pada sub DAS Seunagan Hulu yaitu&#13;
143.879,08 ton/tahun diikuti oleh sub DAS Seunagan Hilir 135.644,02 ton/tahun,&#13;
sub DAS Cut 116.016,74 ton/tahun dan yang paling sedikit adalah pada Sub DAS&#13;
Isep yaitu  107.985,52 ton/tahun. Hasil perhitungan laju erosi lahan pada sub DAS&#13;
Seunagan adalah sub DAS Seunagan Hulu 40,82 ton/ha/tahun, sub DAS Isep&#13;
62,87  ton/ha/tahun, sub DAS Cut 60,93 ton/ha/tahun dan sub DAS Seunagan&#13;
Hilir 42.28 ton/ha/tahun. Usaha konservasi lahan yang dapat dilakukan adalah&#13;
dengan mengembangkan kawasan hutan lindung, alih fungsi lahan semak belukar&#13;
dan tanah terbuka menjadi hutan produksi dan perkebunan, melakukan upaya&#13;
konservasi lahan secara mekanis pada area pertanian lahan kering serta melakukan&#13;
pemulsaan dan pergiliran tanaman pada area persawahan. &#13;

ABSTRACT &#13;
&#13;
Seunagan River Basin Area has a very important role as a water needs for the&#13;
people in Nagan Raya Regency and the half of West Aceh Regency and Central&#13;
Aceh Regency. The condition of Krueng Seunagan River Basin Area is getting&#13;
more and more critical which is marked by a lot of dangerous activities inside and&#13;
outside the River Basin Area such as mining, land conversion and so on. This&#13;
study aim are for knowing how much a yearly sediment production that happened&#13;
in Seunagan River Basin Area, the Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR) and soil&#13;
erosion and also to recommend the effort of land  conservation. From the annual&#13;
sediment production analysis result can be confirmed that the largest sediment&#13;
production happened in Seunagan Hulu Sub River Basin Area, which the sediment&#13;
production is 143.879,08 ton/year and then followed by Seunagan Hilir Sub River&#13;
Basin Area 135.644,02 ton/year, and then Cut Sub River Basin Area 116.016,74 &#13;
ton/year and the smallest sediment production happened in Isep Sub River Basin&#13;
Area which the sediment production is 107.985,52 ton/year. The soil erosion&#13;
result for Seunagan Hulu Sub River Basin Area is 40,82 ton/ha/year, Isep Sub&#13;
River Basin Area is 62,87 ton/ha/year, Cut Sub River Basin Area is 60,93&#13;
ton/ha/year and Seunagan Hilir Sub River Basin Area is 42.28 ton/ha/year. The&#13;
recommendation of land conservation are developing protected forest areas,&#13;
conversion of scrub land and open land into production and plantation forests,&#13;
mechanically conserving land in dry land farming areas and mulching and&#13;
rotating crops in rice fields &#13;
