GAMBARAN FUNGSI KOGNITIF PASIEN PASCA CEDERA KEPALA DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH BANDA ACEH

ABSTRAK
Salah satu masalah yang tumbuh dengan pesat di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia adalah tingginya kematian dan kecacatan karena cedera, terutama cedera bagian kepala. Resiko utama pasien yang mengalami cedera kepala adalah kerusakan otak akibat perdarahan atau pembengkakan otak sebagai respon terhadap cedera, sehingga dapat mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan pasien salah satunya gangguan fungsi kognitif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi gambaran fungsi kognitif pasien pasca cedera kepala. Tempat dan waktu penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin dan Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Meuraxa Banda Aceh pada tanggal 28 Agustus sampai dengan 16 September 2018. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan deskripstif exploratif. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 93 pasien, 69 pasien di RSUDZA dan 24 pasien di RSUD Meuraxa. Teknik pengumpulan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 48 pasien, 36 pasien di RSUDZA dan 12 pasien di RSUD Meuraxa. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) dengan cara ukur wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian tentang fungsi kognitif pasien pasca cedera kepala di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Banda Aceh berada pada kategori probable gangguan kognitif (54,2%). Dari hasil penelitian, diharapkan RSUDZA dan RSUD Meuraxa agar dapat meningkatkan pelayanan intervensi keperawatan primer khususnya di IGD dalam upaya penanganan awal pasien cedera kepala, karena penanganan awal yang baik dapat meminimalkan kerusakan otak yang lebih luas sehingga dapat mengurangi resiko gangguan fungsi kognitif.

DESCRIPTION OF COGNITIVE FUNCTION IN POST-INJURY PATIENTS IN BANDA ACEH REGIONAL HOSPITALS

ABSTRACT
One of the problems that is growing rapidly in developing countries like Indonesia is the high mortality and disability due to injury, especially head injury. The main risk of patients experiencing head injury is brain damage due to bleeding or swelling of the brain in response to injury, so that it can affect various aspects of the patient's life, one of which is impaired cognitive function. The purpose of this study was to identify the cognitive function of patients after head injury. The place and time of the study was conducted at the Regional General Hospital Dr. Zainoel Abidin and Meuraxa Regional General Hospital Banda Aceh on 28 August to 16 September 2018. This type of research is quantitative research with explorative description. The population is 93 patients, 69 patients in RSUDZA and 24 patients in Meuraxa Hospital. The sample collection technique uses purposive sampling method with a total sample of 48 patients, 36 patients in RSUDZA and 12 patients in Meuraxa General Hospital. This study uses the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) instrument by measuring interviews and observations. The results of research on the cognitive function of post-head injury patients at the Banda Aceh Regional General Hospital are in the category of probable cognitive impairment (54.2%). From the results of the research, it is expected that RSUDZA and RSUD Meuraxa in order to improve the service of primary nursing interventions, especially in the emergency departments in an effort to handle the initial head injury patients, because good initial treatment can minimize wider brain damage that can reduce the risk of cognitive impairment.
