The objectives of the study are to examine: (1) the significant difference in
speaking achievement between the students who are taught using Beyond Centers
and Circle Time (BCCT) technique and those who are not taught by using Beyond
Centers and Circle Time (BCCT) technique, and (2) the students? responses toward
the use of the BCCT method. This experimental study was conducted to the
preschool kids at TKIT Permata Sunnah Banda Aceh in the academic year of
2017/2018. The sample of the research was two classes: class B as the
experimental class and class A as the control class. The sampling technique used
was random sampling. The techniques of collecting data were speaking test and
interview. The reason for using interview instead of questionnaire for answering
the second research question was that because the participants in this test were
preschool kids. The data were analyzed by using t-test for speaking test and
description of the interview guide. The result of data analysis shows that: (1) the
BCCT technique is effective to increase preschool kids? speaking skill, which was
proven by the result of t-test, in which tcount (8.963) is higher than ttable (4.01); (2) the
students generally had a positive response (80%) toward the use of the BCCT in
their speaking classroom. Therefore, it can be concluded that the BCCT method
effectively improved the students? achievement in speaking skill as well as
distributed many advantages for the students.
