Endang Mutiawati R, Sp.S (K) ABSTRAK Pengalaman pengasuh dalam memenuhi kebutuhan perawatan diri lansia dengan Rheumatoid Arhtritis merupakan sesuatu yang kompleks dilakukan pengasuh dalam memenuhi kebutuhan self care lansia dengan respon yang bervariasi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam pengalaman pengasuh dalam merawat lansia dengan Rheumatoid Arhtritis di Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian kualitatif fenomenologi transendental dengan metode wawancara mendalam. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengasuh utama lansia Rheumatoid Arhtritis yang didapatkan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa hasil rekaman wawancara dan catatan lapangan yang dianalisis dengan menerapkan teknik Miles dan Huberman. Penelitian mengidentifikasi lima tema yaitu kebutuhan self care lansia, faktor pendukung dari dalam diri pengasuh, faktor pendukung dari luar diri pengasuh, faktor penghambat dari dalam diri pengasuh, dan faktor penghambat dari luar diri pengasuh. Peneliti menyarankan untuk menghindari resiko salah perawatan pada lansia agar pengelola Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial dapat memfasilitasi dengan rutin penyegaran pengetahuan maupun keterampilan pengasuh dalam merawat lansia dengan penyakit kronis terutama rematik. Endang Mutiawati R, Sp.S (K) ABSTRACT The caregivers’ experience in suiting the elderly self-care with Rheumatoid Arthritis is a complex thing for caregivers in meeting the need of the elderly self-care with the varied responses. The aim of this study is to explore in-depth of the caregivers’ experience of carers in caring elderly with Rheumatoid Arhtritis at Social Welfare Institution Banda Aceh. The type of this study is transcendental phenomenology qualitative research with an in-depth interview. The participants in this study were main caregivers of elderly with Rheumatoid Arthritis who were obtained by purposive sampling technique. The data collected in the form of interviews and field notes were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman techniques. This study identified five theme that is the need of self care elderly, the supporting factor from within the caregiver, factor supporters from outside the carer's self, inhibiting factors from within the carer, and inhibiting factors from outside the caregiver's self. In this study, the researchers suggested preventing the risk of mistreatment of elderly so that the manager of the Social Welfare Institution can facilitate the routine refreshment of knowledge and caregivers’ skill in caring the elderly with chronic diseases, especially Rheumatoid Arthritis.
