One of the English textbooks which is usually used for the second grade of Junior High School students in Aceh is English on Sky. Based on the writer’s observation, there are many Junior High School teachers use this book, such as at SMPN 1 Banda Aceh, SMPN 2 Banda Aceh, SMPN 3 Banda Aceh, SMPN 1 PeukanBada Aceh Besar, SMPN 1 Indrapuri and SMPN 1 DarulImarah. It shows that this book is popular and familiar to the English teacher. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore whether the content of texts for reading skill is appropriate and suitable for the standard content of the KTSP Curriculum. The method used in this study is qualitative by using content analysis technique. The result shows that there are three kinds/genres of text for reading skill based on English textbook entitled English on Sky 2 for Junior High School Students Year VIII, they are descriptive, recount and narrative text which match the standard content of the KTSP Curriculum. All reading texts provide tasks and activities which are relevant to needs/goals of learners in reading comprehension. &#13;
