Pertumbuhan penduduk di Kota Banda Aceh semakin tinggi antara lain akibat adanya migrasi dan perpindahan penduduk dari daerah lain. Migrasi ini menyebabkan kebutuhan tempat tinggal, dan terus meningkat di Kota Banda Aceh. Hal ini berdampak pada meningkatnya kebutuhan infrastruktur, yang kemudian karena kejenuhannya menimbulkan tidak optimalnya pelayanan sarana dan prasarana. Pelayanan infrastruktur terkait dengan kepadatan penduduk dan penggunaan ruang. Hal ini disebabkan jumlah penduduk yang semakin padat dapat berdampak pada penurunan belanja publik per kapita, sehingga kualitas pelayanan publik menurun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepadatan permukiman dan untuk menemukan strategi dalam meningkatkan pelayanan infrastruktur di Kota Banda Aceh. Rumusan strategi dalam peningkatan pelayanan infrastruktur di Kota Banda Aceh, dilakukan melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD), yang terdiri dari akademisi, tenaga ahli, tokoh masyarakat, pihak swasta, dan pemerintah, dengan jumlah 8-12 orang. Metode statistika yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) melalui software AMOS. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga minggu dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 100 responden yang merupakan kepala keluarga yang berdomisili di Kota Banda Aceh. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kepadatan permukiman berpengaruh negatif terhadap pelayanan infrastruktur. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai koefisien jalur sebesar -0,180. Semakin padat suatu permukiman maka pelayanan infrastruktur di permukiman tersebut semakin kurang baik. Kepadatan permukiman berpengaruh negatif terhadap penggunaan ruang dengan nilai koefisien jalur sebesar -0,160. Semakin tinggi kepadatan permukiman, maka penggunaan ruang semakin kurang baik. Penggunaan ruang berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pelayanan infrastruktur, dengan nilai koefisien jalur sebesar 0,471. Semakin baik penggunaan ruangan di suatu permukiman akan semakin baik pula pelayanan infrastruktur di permukiman tersebut. Peningkatan kualitas pelayanan infrastruktur akibat penggunaan ruangan sangat signifikan.

Population growth in Kota Banda Aceh is higher, among others, due to migration and migration from other regions. This migration leads to the need for shelter, and continues to increase in the city of Banda Aceh. This has an impact on the increasing needs of infrastructure, which then due to saturation lead to not optimal infrastructure services. Service infrastructure related to population density and space usage. This is due to the increasingly crowded population can affect the decrease in public spending per capita, so the quality of public services declined. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of settlement density and to find strategies to improve infrastructure services in Banda Aceh City. The strategy of improving infrastructure services in Banda Aceh City is done through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), which consists of academics, experts, public figures, private parties, and government, with the number of 8-12 people. The statistical method used is descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis through AMOS software. This research was conducted for three weeks by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are head of household domiciled in Banda Aceh City. Based on the result of research, it is found that the density of settlement has negative effect to infrastructure service. This is indicated by the coefficient value of -0.180. The more dense a settlement the infrastructure service in the settlement is less good. The density of settlements negatively affected the use of space with a coefficient value of -0,160. The higher the density of the settlements, the use of space is less good. Spatial use has positive and significant effect on infrastructure service, with coefficient value of 0,471. The better the use of space in a settlement will be better also infrastructure services in the settlement. Improving the quality of infrastructure services due to the use of space is very significant.
