Title	:	The Implementation of Drama Technique in Teaching  Speaking to the second year students of SMA Lab School Unsyiah.&#13;

This study is a field research which is descriptive qualitative in nature. Thus, the main activity was the field observation. This study aimed to observe the implementation of the drama technique throughout the instructional activities of speaking class in SMA Lab School Unsyiah. Additionally, the observation was supported by video recording in order to avoid data inaccuracy. At the same time, the researcher also intended to discover the 32 students’ perspective about the technique. The students were selected purposively from the second year class. The results of the observation showed that the teacher implemented the drama technique appropriately. From the questionnaire, the researcher found that the students gave affirmative attitude toward the technique. Above all, the researcher hopes that an English teacher is willing to implement the drama technique frequently in order to stimulate the students to speak actively.&#13;
