Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumsi rokok pada rumah tangga miskin dan tidak miskin serta peluang seorang perokok menjadi miskin akibat mengonsumsi rokok di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan wawancara langsung. Total sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 100 orang kepala rumah tangga yang merokok. Adapun model yang digunakan adalah regresi logistik, dengan mengkategorikan rumah tangga miskin sebagai “1” dan rumah tangga tidak miskin sebagai “0”. Terdapat 5 variabel bebas yang mempengaruhi variabel terikat yaitu, harga rokok, pendidikan, umur, jumlah anggota keluarga, dan lingkungan perokok. Berdasarkan hasil regresi, variabel harga rokok, pendidikan, dan umur berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan. Sedangkan variabel jumlah anggota keluarga dan lingkungan perokok berpengaruh positif dan signifikan. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa seorang perokok akan berpeluang menjadi miskin sebesar 8 kali jika lingkungan sekitar mendukungnya untuk mengonsumsi rokok. Serta, berpeluang sebesar 2 kali jika jumlah anggota keluarganya bertambah tapi ia tidak mengurangi konsumsi rokoknya.

This study aims to analyse the factors that could affect the consumption of cigarette both in the poor household and the non-poor household along with the opportunity of a smoker become poor in the result of consumed the cigarette in Aceh Besar regency. This study use primary data which are obtained from direct interview and the observation. The samples of this study are a hundred of householders whom are smoking. Meanwhile, this study applied a logistic regression and categorized the poor household as “1” and the non-poor household as “0”. There are five independent variables that influence the dependent variables, they are; cigarette price, education, age, number of family members, and the smokers neighbourhood. Based on the regression results, variable of the cigarette price, education, and age give the negative and significant effect. While another independent variables that the number of family members and the neighbourhood of smokers give the positive and significant effect. Therefore, this study inform us that the opportunity of a smoker become poor is eight times bigger if their neighbourhood support their smoking habit, and if the family members of smokers is increase, the opportunity is about two times bigger if the smoker does not stop their smoking habits.
