<note>ABSTRAK

ABSTRACT
Dipterocarpaceae is a group of Angiospermae plants that are quite old and has economic value. Family of Dipterocarpaceae spread throughout tropical regions such as Asia, Africa and America. However, species with the highest diversity are distributed in Southeast Asia. The kinship relationship in Dipterocarpaceae is more easily interpreted by using genetic markers than with morphological characters. This study aims to establish and analyze the phylogenetic trees based on single locus gene (matK, trnL-trnF and pgiC) and multi locus (the combined of the three genes), interpreted the relationships of the closely related species, evolution, and speciation. The study used 20 species obtained from GenBank for each of the genes tested. This study used phylogenetic tree with distance based method (Neighbor Joining) and character based methods (Maximum Parsimony and Maximum Likelihood). The results showed that phylogenetic trees with the combined of three genes (matK +trnL-trnF+pgiC) were easier to explain the closely related species, evolution, and speciation than the other genes. Dipterocarpeae tribe is more primitive than Shoreae tribe. Moreover, it is known that allopatric speciation occurs in the species used in this study.
