Title                  : “Using Captioned Movie to Improve Listening Skill (An Experimenta Study at MTsN 2 Banda Aceh)”.&#13;

This study focused on the use of captioned movie in teaching listening at third grade (IX-6) of MTsN 2 Banda Aceh which consists of 30 students. The instrument used to collect the data was the tests and these were analyzed by using sample t-test. From the result of the study, it was found that the mean score of pre-test was 58, 66 and the mean score of post-test was 86. It was clearly seen that the mean score of post-test was higher that the mean score of pre-test. Then, t-test was 10.839,69 and critical value in t-table was 0, 05 (5%) is 2, 04. Meanwhile, t-score was higher than t-table (t-score = 10.839, 69&gt; t-table = 2, 04523).  It means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) of this research is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. In summary, the students’ listening of the students was increased when the teacher used captioned movie, and captioned movie can be the one of the alternative media used by the teacher in teaching English particularly in teaching listening in school.&#13;
