Abdul Hamid, M.Si Kata kunci : strategi pembelajaran diskoveri, strategi pembelajaran inkuiri , hasil belajar Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh melalui strategi pembelajaran Discovery dan strategi pembelajaran inkuiri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen (ekperimen semu) dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh. Sampel penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas XI IPA 1 yang berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen-1 yang diajarkan dengan penerapan strategi diskoveri dan kelas XI IPA 4 yang berjumlah 31 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen-2 yang diajarkan dengan penerapan strategi inkuiri. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar yang berjumlah 15 butir soal terdiri dari 10 butir soal pilihan ganda dan 5 soal pilihan essay . Hasil analisis data menggunakan Uji-t dua sampel, diperoleh hasil skor rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen-1 tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen-2 dengan thitung = 0,521< ttabel = 1,999 pada taraf signifikan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa antara strategi pembelajaran diskoveri dengan strategi pembelajaran inkuiri pada mata pelajaran fisika SMAN 8 Banda Aceh. Key words: Discovery learning strategy, Inquiry learning strategy, learning result This research was aimed to look into the difference of students’ learning result in Class XI at SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh through the implementation of Discovery and Inquiry learning strategy. This research is a quasi experimental study with all students of Class XI at SMA Negeri 8 become the population. While the sample of this research was chosen by using purposive sampling. Then the researcher found that Class XI IPA 1 consisting of 33 students as experimental-class 1 which was taught by using Discovery learning strategy and Class XI IPA 4 consisting of 31 students as experimental class 2 which was taught by using Inquiry learning strategy. The data collection was conducted by using a study-result test with 15 questions consisting of ten multiple choice questions and five essay questions. The data analysis used two-sample t-test. The researcher found that the average posttest score of the experimental class 1 is not significantly different from the average posttest score of experimental class 2 with tcount = 0,521< ttable = 1,999 at significant point 95%. The result of this research shows that there is no difference of students’ learning result between using Discovery and Inquiry learning strategy in Physics at SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh.
