ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel bebas (jabatan, golongan, masa kerja, jenis kelamin, jurusan, dan pendidikan) terhadap gaji dosen FMIPA Unsyiah tahun 2011. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Multiple Classification Analysis (MCA) dan Regresi Linear Berganda dengan membandingkan hasil pengujian statistika keduanya. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder. Kedua metode tersebut diuji asumsinya masing-masing. Hasil penelitian kedua metode tersebut dibandingkan dengan taraf nyata 5%. Dengan menggunakan metode MCA ada tiga variabel bebas yang berpengaruh terhadap variabel tidak bebas (gaji dosen) yaitu golongan, jabatan, dan masa kerja dengan nilai R2 = 81.6%, sedangkan dengan metode Regresi Linear Berganda ada empat variabel bebas yang berpengaruh terhadap variabel tidak bebas (gaji dosen) yaitu golongan, jabatan(lektor dan lektor kepala), masa kerja, dan jurusan (biologi, fisika, kimia, dan matematika) dengan R2 = 94.9%. Kata Kunci : Multiple Classification Analysis (MCA), Regresi Linear Berganda Koefisien Determinasi ABSTRACT This research is aimed to determine the influence of independent variables (position, class, tenure, gender major, department and education) on salary of lecturer of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty of Unsyiah in 2011. The method used is Multiple Classification Analysis (MCA) and Multiple Linear Regression by comparing the result of both statistics test. The data used is secondary data. Both methods’ assumptions were tested respectively. The result of both methods is compared with the 5% significance level. By using MCA method, there are three independent variables that affect the dependent variable (lecturer salary). They are class, position, and tenure which the value of R2 = 81.6%. Meanwhile, by using Multilple Linear Regression, there are four independent variables that affect the dependent variable (lecturer salary), namely class, position (lecturer and associate professor), department (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology), and tenure with R2 = 94.9%.
