ABSTRAK&#13;
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran peer teaching untuk &#13;
meningkatkan motivasi belajar, hasil belajar dan retensi siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan di&#13;
MAS Darul Ulum Banda Aceh. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2017. Metode&#13;
yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan pretestpostest&#13;
control&#13;
group&#13;
design.&#13;
Penelitian&#13;
ini&#13;
dilaksanakan&#13;
pada&#13;
dua&#13;
kelas&#13;
yaitu&#13;
XI&#13;
MIA&#13;
1&#13;
sebagai&#13;
&#13;
kelas&#13;
kontrol&#13;
dan&#13;
XI&#13;
MIA&#13;
2&#13;
sebagai&#13;
kelas&#13;
eksperimen.&#13;
Instrumen&#13;
yang&#13;
digunakan&#13;
adalah&#13;
angket&#13;
&#13;
motivasi&#13;
untuk&#13;
melihat&#13;
motivasi&#13;
belajar&#13;
siswa,tes&#13;
objektif&#13;
yang&#13;
terdiri&#13;
dari&#13;
20&#13;
soal&#13;
pilihan&#13;
ganda&#13;
&#13;
untuk&#13;
melihat&#13;
hasil&#13;
belajar,&#13;
tes&#13;
objektif&#13;
yang&#13;
terdiri&#13;
dari&#13;
20&#13;
soal&#13;
pilihan&#13;
ganda&#13;
postes&#13;
yang&#13;
sudah&#13;
&#13;
diacak&#13;
&#13;
untuk melihat retensi siswa. Analisis data menggunakan uji Mann Whitney dengan&#13;
bantuan SPSS 17.0 for windows pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil penelitian nilai motivasi belajar&#13;
kelas eksperimen pertemuan pertama adalah 65,71% termasuk kategori baik dan kelas kontrol&#13;
pertemuan pertama 46,7% termasuk kategori baik. Pertemuan kedua nilai motivasi belajar kelas&#13;
eksperimen 98% termasuk kategori baik dan pada kelas kontrol 86,7% termasuk kategori baik.&#13;
Persentase peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen adalah 60% termasuk kategori tinggi dan&#13;
kelas kontrol 27% termasuk kategori rendah. Pada nilai retensi siswa kelas eksperimen adalah&#13;
91% termasuk kategori sangat tinggi dan kelas kontrol 63% termasuk kategori rendah. Dari&#13;
ketiga variabel yang telah diukur hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode peer&#13;
teaching dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar, hasil belajar dan retensi siswa pada materi sistem&#13;
pencernaan di MAS Darul Ulum Banda Aceh &#13;

ABSTRACT &#13;
The objective of this research was to identify the implementation of Peer Teaching Method in&#13;
increasing learning motivation, output, and retention in the concept of Digestive System at Islamic&#13;
Senior High School (MAS) Darul Ulum Banda Aceh. Data used in this research were collected in&#13;
January 2017. Experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design was used in this&#13;
research. There were two classes chosen as the samples of this research, namely class XI MIA 1 as the&#13;
control group and XI MIA 2 as the experimental group. A questionnaire measuring students’ learning&#13;
motivation, an objective test with 20 multiple-choice items measuring students’ learning output, and&#13;
the objective test with 20 randomized items measuring students’ learning retention were used as the&#13;
research instruments. The data that have been collected were analyzed by means of Mann-Whitney U&#13;
Test supported by SPSS 17.0 for Windows with significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the&#13;
average score of students’ motivation in the experimental group was 65,71% included good category&#13;
while the control group obtained 46,7% included good category.  The second result motivation in the&#13;
experimental group was 98% included good category  and control group obtained 86,7% included&#13;
good category. In addition, N-gain scores of both classes were also measured, the experimental group&#13;
got 60% included very high category, and the control group got 27% included low category.&#13;
Moreover, the average score of students’ retention in the experimental group was 91% included very&#13;
high category while the control group reached 63% included low category. By considering the three&#13;
variables measured above, it could be concluded that the implementation of Peer Teaching Method&#13;
increased the learning motivation, learning output, and learning retention of the students in the&#13;
concept of Digestive System at Islamic Senior High School (MAS) Darul Ulum Banda Aceh. &#13;
