This research aimed to analyze the test items used as summative test at SMAN 1  &#13;
Gandapura, Bireuen. The item analysis was to identify the index difficulty of the&#13;
test, discrimination power of the test, and the distractors effectiveness. The&#13;
research method used in this study was descriptive content analysis which&#13;
changes the qualitative data into quantitative interpretation. The objects of this&#13;
study were 20 multiples choice items used in the summative test, with five&#13;
distractors for each item.The data collection was proceeded through crosschecking&#13;
&#13;
the students’ answer. The data were computed manually. Firstly, the&#13;
process was to determine the test validity. The achievement criteria is 60% which&#13;
means that the items are sufficiently developed. For the test reliability, the r-value&#13;
was 6.14, which higher than r-table = 0.444. It is considered that the test has good&#13;
reliability. Then, index of difficulty of the test. It was obtained that 50% of the test&#13;
was easy with index 0.71-1.00, 30% was moderate with index 0.31-0.71, and 20%&#13;
was difficult with index 0.00-0.31. Secondly, the discrimination power of the test&#13;
is found excellent. Eighteen items have perfect discrimination with positive index;&#13;
two items have no discrimination with zero index; no item has wrong&#13;
discrimination with negative index. Lastly, 91% of the distractors are effective&#13;
since they were chosen by more than 2% of the whole testees. There were 9%&#13;
distractors which were considered ineffective as they were chosen by less than 2%&#13;
of the whole testees. In conclusion, the reading validity of this test is sufficient,&#13;
while the writing validity is poor. Meanwhile, the index difficulty, index&#13;
discrimination, and distractors’ effectiveness are excellent. &#13;

Riset ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis item test yang digunakan sebagai tes &#13;
sumatif di SMAN 1 Gandapura, Bireuen. Analisis item ini dimaksudkan untuk&#13;
mengidentifikasi indeks kesulitan soal, daya beda soal, dan keefektifan pengecoh&#13;
soal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah metode deskriptif&#13;
untuk analisis konten. Metode ini mengubah data kualitative menjadi interpretasi&#13;
kuantitatif. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah 20 soal pilihan ganda yang digunakan&#13;
di ujian sumatif Bahasa Inggris di SMAN 1 Gandapura, Bireuen. Tiap soal&#13;
memiliki lima opsi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mendata jawaban siswa.&#13;
Semua data di analisa dengan cara manual. Pertama, dari analisis validitas tes&#13;
didapat bahwa validitas test adalah bagus karena 60% kriteria validitas terpenuhi.&#13;
Untuk reliability tes, the nilai r adalah  6.14, yang lebih tinggi dari nilai r-table =&#13;
0.444. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tes ini mempunyai reliability yang bagus.&#13;
Lalu, dari index tingkat kesulitan soal, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa 50% dari item&#13;
soal adalah soal mudah dengan index 0.71-1.00, 30% dari item soal adalah soal&#13;
sedang dengan index 0.31-0.71, and 20% dari item soal adalah soal sulit dengan&#13;
index 0.00-0.31. Kedua, tes ini mempunyai daya beda yang bagus. 18 item&#13;
mempunyai daya beda sempurna dengan index positif, 2 item tidak mempunyai&#13;
daya beda dengan indeks nol, dan tidak ada item yang mempunyai daya beda&#13;
salah dengan indeks negatif. Ketiga, 91% dari pengecoh dismpulkan efektif&#13;
karena lebih dari 2% dari seluruh pesrta tes yang memilih pengecoh tersebut.&#13;
Hanya ada 9% pengecoh yang tidak efektif karena dipilih oleh kurang dari 2%&#13;
peserta tes. Dapat disimpulkan, validitas untuk Reading dalam tes ini adalah&#13;
cukup memuaskan, sedangkan validitas untuk Writing masih buruk. Sementara&#13;
itu, indeks kesulitan, daya beda, dan keefektifan pengecoh adalah bagus. &#13;
