 <note>Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui sebaran karbohidrat pada pankreas ayam kampung dan itik muskovi secara histokimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pankreas ayam kampung dan itik  muskovi masing-masing tiga ekor dan diproses secara mikroteknik dengan pewarnaan alcian blue pH 2,5 (AB) untuk mendeteksi karbohidrat asam dan periodic acid Schiff (PAS) untuk karbohidrat netral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada jaringan parenkim pankreas ayam kampung dan itik muskovi tidak terdeteksi adanya karbohidrat asam maupun netral  (AB pH 2,5 dan PAS negatif). Namun demikian pada duktus pankreatikus ayam dan itik muskovi menunjukkan reaksi positif AB pH 2,5 di bagian mukosa dinding duktus dengan intensitas sedang (++) hingga kuat (+++), dan reaksi positif PAS pada mukosa dinding duktus dengan intensitas lemah (+), sedang (++) hingga kuat (+++). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah karbohidrat asam dan karbohidrat netral tersebar dengan pola yang sama di mukosa dinding duktus pankreatikus ayam kampung dan itik muskovi namun dengan intensitas reaksi yang berbeda.&#13;

The aim of the study was to investigate the distribution of carbohydrate in the pancreas of domestic chicken and muscovy duck. This research used pancreas from three domestic chickens and three muscovy ducks. Pancreas tissue were processed in microtechnic manner and stained with alcian blue (AB) pH 2,5 and periodic acid Schiff (PAS). The results showed that pancreas tissue of domestic chickens and muscovy ducks showed negative reaction on AB pH 2,5 and PAS. However, the pancreatic duct of domestic chicken and muscovy duck showed positively reaction on AB pH 2,5 at the mucosa of epithelium layer of pancreatic duct with moderate intensity (++) to strong intensity (+++) and also PAS staining at the mucosa of epithelium layer of pancreatic duct with weak intensity (+), moderate intensity (++) to strong intensity. In conclusion, the pancreatic duct of domestic chicken and muscovy duck containing of the acid carbohydrate and neutral carbohydrate that distributed in the mucosa of pancreatic duct with similar pattern but different in reaction intensities.</note>
