 <note>This study aims to identify the contamination of Salmonella sp in roasted chicken from local restaurans in Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh. The Samples were taken from five locations in Syiah Kuala district. The locations were Lampineung, Lamgugob, Jeulingke, Peurada, and Darussalam. This study used modified Carter’s method for bacterial identification. Samples collected and inoculated in Selenite Cystine Broth (SCB). Positive sample on SCB media cultured on Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA) as selective media for Salmonella sp, Gram stain was done for spesific colonies. Biochemical identification for Salmonella sp cultured from bacterial isolates from SSA to Methyl Red - Voges Proskauer(MR-VP), Indol, Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM), Simmon’s Citrat Agar (SCA), and carbohydrate media (sucrose, mannitol, glucose, and lactose). The result showed that all of the samples were positively contaminated with Salmonella sp. It can be conclude that the roasted chicken from five local restaurants in Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh are contaminated with Salmonella sp.</note>
