ABSTRACT

One of the biota that has high economic value is from the Subphylum Crustacean, then a research about the abundance, diversity, evenness and dominancy of Crustacean needed to be done. This research was done in the rehabilitation areas of mangrove in Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar Districts. The aim of this research was to learn about the community structure of Crustacean in the mangrove rehabilitation area. Sampling was done in five observation stations with purposive sampling method, and the obtainment of makrozoobentos was done by using square transect for mangrove and Crustacean. The result showed that the highest composition was Ocypodidae (60%). The highest abundance of Crustacean was Sesarma sp. with the extent of 1.50 Ind/m2 and the highest abundance from all of the stations were at Station 4 and 5. Based on the diversity index at the five stations was in the low category with the range from 0.92 to 2.93, while evenness index was in the medium and high category with a range between 0.58 to 0.98. This implied that the total number of individuals in the species were almost the same, so there was no domination at field study area.

ABSTRAK

Salah satu biota yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi yaitu dari subfilum Crustacea, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang bagaimana kelimpahan, keanekaragaman, keseragaman dan dominansi Crustacea. Penelitian dilakukan di kawasan rehabilitasi mangrove di Kota Banda Aceh dan Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas Crustacea pada kawasan rehabilitasi mangrove. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di lima Stasiun pengamatan dengan metode purposive sampling dan pengambilan makrozoobentos menggunakan transek kuadrat untuk mangrove maupun Crustacea. Hasil penelitian komposisi jenis berdasarkan Familia yang paling tinggi yaitu jenis Ocypodidae (60%). Kelimpahan Crustacea yang paling tinggi yaitu jenis Sesarma sp. sebesar 1.50 Ind/m2 dan kelimpahan tertinggi dari semua stasiun terdapat pada Stasiun 4 dan 5. Berdasarkan indeks keanekaragaman pada kelima stasiun pengamatan termasuk dalam kategori rendah dengan jumlah 0.92-2.93, sementara untuk tingkat keseragaman Crustacea dalam kategori sedang-tinggi dengan jumlah berkisar antara 0.58-0.98 hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa jumlah individu dalam antar spesies hampir sama, sehingga tidak ada yang mendominasi pada kelima stasiun pengamatan.
