This study is aimed at finding out whether the Two Stay Two Stray Technique improves&#13;
the students’ reading comprehension at the second grade of SMPN 9 Banda Aceh or not.&#13;
The researcher used pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test&#13;
design. The aspects covered are main idea, detail information, reference and vocabulary.&#13;
Instrument used was reading test.  In analyzing the data, the writer used statistical&#13;
formula. The finding shows that the mean score in the post-test was higher than in pretest.&#13;
&#13;
The higher aspect was main idea (25 Point).  In the pre-test the mean score was&#13;
44.75, and in the post-test was 77.69. Furthermore, t-test was 4.212 and t-table was&#13;
2.069. The significant level used in this study was 0.05. The value of t-test was higher &#13;
than t-table (4.212 ? 2.069), H&#13;

 was accepted and H&#13;

 was rejected. Based on the result of&#13;
this research, it can be concluded that teaching reading by using Two Stay Two Stray&#13;
Technique can improve the students’ reading comprehension. Two Stay Two Stray&#13;
Technique can be one of the alternative techniques in teaching Reading skill. &#13;
