Title  :    Teacher’s  Strategy in Teaching English Subject in &#13;
Accelerated Class at SMAN 3 Banda Aceh&#13;

This  study was carried out to analyze  the teacher’s strategy in teaching English &#13;
subject in the Accelerated Class at SMAN 3 Banda Aceh . Descriptive qualitative &#13;
approach  was applied.  The  English  teacher in the Accelerated Class at SMAN 3 &#13;
Banda Aceh  was the subjects of this study. While the object of this study  was  the &#13;
teacher’s strategy in teaching English in the Accelerated Class at SMAN 3 Banda &#13;
Aceh. The data were  collected by using observation sheet and interview guide  as &#13;
research instruments. The result  of obseravation sheet  showed that  the teacher used &#13;
aperception at the beginning of the class to arouse students’ motivation in the &#13;
teaching learning process. Furthermore, the teacher introduce the topics or materials &#13;
in real contextto encourage the students to be more interested and focused in learning &#13;
the materials. In addition,  the findings of interview results pointed that   the teacher &#13;
used  vocabulary and language development  strategy to introduce new vocabulary  to &#13;
the students,  guided interaction  strategy in managing students’ activities in the &#13;
classroom,  metacognitionand authentic assessmentstrategies  in testing and &#13;
evaluating students' understanding,  explicitinstruction  strategy in providing direction &#13;
and instruction to students,  meaning-based context and universal themes  strategy in &#13;
order to create meaningful learning for students, and  modelling,  graphic organizers, &#13;
and visuals strategy in order to facilitate students understanding the material.</note>
