SUPERVISI AKADEMIK KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN GURU PROFESIONAL DI SMA NEGERI I BLANG PIDIE KABUPATEN ACEH BARAT DAYA Oleh: Jalisal Efendi Nim : 13092000500010 Komisi Pembimbing: 1. Prof. Dr. Murniati AR, M. Pd. 2. Dr. Bahrun, M. Pd. ABSTRAK Kunci keberhasilan suatu sekolah sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas supervisi Akademik. Supervisi yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi peningkatan mutu pendidikan di sekolah. Untuk mewujudkan peningkatan mutu pendidikan tersebut, kepala sekolah membutuhkan perencanaan yang baik dalam menyusun perencanaan supervisi untuk meningkatkan profesional guru di SMA Negeri 1 Blang pidie Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah serta guru-guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perencanaan supervisi yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah sudah berjalan secara maksimal, kepala sekolah yang membuat perencanaan supervisi, (2) Teknik-teknik pelaksanaan supervisi akademik yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah sudahsistematis dan mempunyai perencanaan sehingga guru-guru merasakan adanya bantuan dari kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran, (3) Tindak lanjut hasil supervisi dilakukan dengan cara mencatat kekurangan-kekurangan pada saat observasi kelas, memanggil guru yang bersangkukan secara personal, dan membahas hasilnya melalui rapat dewan guru,(4) Hambatan-hambatan yang meliputi kompetensi supervisi akademik kepala sekolah rendah,sedangkan faktor pendukung lainnya kepala sekolah dan guru memiliki komitmen, motivasi, dan rasa kekeluargaanyang baik untuk melakukan pelaksanaan supervisi akademik sudah tercapai secara efektifwalau ada sedikit kekurangan dalam melaksanakan supervisi akademik ini sangat membantu guru dalam memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran. Kata kunci: Supervisi Akademik, Kinerja Kepala Sekolah, dan Profesional Guru SCHOOL PRINCIPAL’S ACADEMIC SUPERVISION IN IMPROVING TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONALISM AT SMA NEGERI 1 BLANG PIDIE ABSTRACT (Jalisal Efendi) The Key to the success of a school is strongly influenced by the quality of supervision Academic. Supervision is done by the head of the school is one of the factors affecting the increase in the quality of education in schools. To realize the improvement of the quality of education, the principal requires good planning in planning to improve the supervision of professional teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Blang Pidie Aceh Barat Daya. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach, the research subjects were the principal and the teachers. The results of this study indicate that: (1) supervision planning by the school principal has been conducted; the principal prepared the supervision planning. (2) Techniques used by the principal in performing the supervision are systematic and based on planning and thus, teachers have felt the supports from the principal in the improvement of learning quality.(3) Follow up of the supervision results is done by noting rooms for improvement in classroom observation, one-on-one meeting with teachers, and discussion of the results in teachers’ council meeting. (4) Obstacles barriers includehindering factors is the principal’s low academic supervision capacity, whereas some supporting factors include teachers’ and principal’s commitment, motivation, and good collective feeling and commitment to perform academic supervision. The academic supervision has been effective and very helpful for teachers in improving their teaching quality despite some limitations.
