ABSTRAK Nama : Fina Maghfirah Fakultas : Kedokteran Gigi Program Studi : Kedokteran Gigi Judul : Aktivitas Pembentukan Biofilm Streptococcus mutans dan Candida albicans setelah dipapar dengan Cigarette Smoke Condensate dan Minuman Probiotik Biofilm adalah suatu komunitas sel bakteri yang terstruktur dan saling menempel, salah satu contoh biofilm yang menempel pada permukaan gigi adalah plak gigi. Salah satu bakteri yang berperan pada proses pembentukan koloni awal plak adalah Streptococcus mutans. Salah satu faktor resiko yang memperberat penyakit periodontal adalah kebiasan merokok. Hasil dari pembakaran asap rokok disebut juga kondensasi asap rokok atau cigarette smoke condensate. Cigarette smoke condensate dapat mengganggu perlekatan, pertumbuhan dan pembentukan biofilm pada Candida albicans dan nikotin yang terkandung dalam cigarette smoke condensate dapat meningkatkan aktivitas metabolik Streptococcus mutans. Minuman probiotik dapat menekan pembentukan biofilm Streptococcus mutans dan Candida albicans. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis, diperoleh nilai p = 0,000. Oleh karena nilai p < 0,05, maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan aktivitas biofilm Streptococcus mutans dan Candida albicans setelah dipapar dengan cigarette smoke condensate dan minuman probiotik. Nilai korelasi Spearman’s menunjukkan korelasi positif dengan kekuatan korelasi yang sangat kuat. Kata Kunci : Streptococcus mutans, Candida albicans, cigarette smoke condensate, minuman probiotik.
