Penelitian tentang uji daya serap metilen biru menggunakan karbon aktif yang&#13;
dimodifikasi dengan cangkang telur telah dilakukan. Sumber karbon aktif yang&#13;
digunakan adalah limbah serbuk gergaji, karbon aktif yang diperoleh selanjutnya&#13;
dimodifikasi dengan larutan kalsium karbonat dari limbah cangkang telur. Karbon&#13;
aktif termodifikasi diuji daya serapnya terhadap  metilen biru dengan variasi&#13;
waktu dan pH . Hasil uji adsorpsi menunjukkan bahwa kondisi adsorpsi optimum&#13;
terjadi pada pH 8 dengan waktu kontak 25 menit. Hasil uji adsorpsi karbon aktif&#13;
termodifikasi terhadap metilen biru mengikuti model isoterm Langmuir dengan&#13;
q&#13;
 sebesar 78,74 mg/g. Hasil ini menunjukan karbon aktif termodifikasi&#13;
berpotensi digunakan sebagai adsorben metilen biru. &#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
&#13;
The adsorption of methylene blue by activated carbon modified with eggshell had &#13;
been done. Sawdust waste was used as a sourse of activated carbon. The  activated&#13;
carbon obtained was modified with a solution of calcium carbonate from eggshell&#13;
waste. The modified activated carbon was tested for removal of methylene blue&#13;
with variation of coutaet time and pH. The result of adsorption test results showed&#13;
that the optimum adsorption condition was occured at pH 8 with a contact time of&#13;
25 minutes. The adsorption  steady of methylene blue by modified activated&#13;
carbon was folowed adsorption to methylene blue were followed Langmuir&#13;
isotherm models with q&#13;
 at 78,74 mg/g. These results indicate the potential use&#13;
of modified activated carbon as adsorbent of methylene blue. &#13;
