ABSTRAK
Air merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok kehidupan bagi mahkluk hidup yang
ada di bumi. Air yang digunakan untuk kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari
khususnya untuk penyediaan air minum dan air bersih harus memenuhi
persyaratan. Kabupaten Aceh Besar memiliki jumlah penduduk pada tahun 2012
sebanyak 371.41 ribu/jiwa dan setiap tahunnya akan bertambah. Kebutuhan air
bersih sangat berpengaruh pada kehidupan sekarang di mana kualitas pada air
bersih jadi pertimbangan. Maka dari itu bagaimana mengetahui tingkat kualitas air
pada sumur bor di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Luasnya Kabupaten Aceh Besar tidak
memungkinkan mengambil data satu persatu di seluruh lokasi. Oleh karena itu
untuk memperoleh data kualitas air di seluruh wilayah dapat dilakukan
menggunakan interpolasi. Interpolasi merupakan suatu metode atau fungsi
matematika untuk menduga nilai pada lokasi-lokasi yang datanya tidak tersedia.
Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Interpolasi Inverse Distance Weighted
(IDW) dan Kriging. Pendekatan yang berbeda dalam interpolasi dapat
menghasilkan hasil data yang berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah
menganalisis perbandingan metode dari interpolasi Inverse Distance Weight
(IDW) dan Kriging dengan memanfaatkan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) di
Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Perbandingan dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai RSME
dari hasil interpolasi. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa metode
interpolasi IDW lebih akurat dalam mengestimasi nilai yang dekat dengan sampel
yang tersedia dibandingkan dengan Kriging. Walaupun demikian Kriging lebih
akurat dalam memprediksi nilai dari lokasi yang jauh dari titik sampel.

ABSTRACT

Water is one of the basic necessities of life for living creatures on earth. Water
used for the needs of daily life, especially for the provision of drinking water and
clean water must meet the requirements. Aceh Besar district has a total population
in 2012 of 371.41 thousand / soul and every year will increase. The need for clean
water is influential in life now where the quality of the water so it consideration.
Therefore how to determine the level of water quality in wells drilled in the
district of Aceh Besar. The extent of Aceh Besar district does not allow the taking
of data one by one across locations. Therefore, to obtain water quality data
throughout the region can be done using interpolation. Interpolation is a method
or a mathematical function to estimate the value of the locations for which data
are available. The method used is the method of interpolation Inverse Distance
Weighted (IDW) and Kriging. Different approaches in the interpolation can yield
different data. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison method of
interpolation Inverse Distance Weight (IDW) and Kriging utilizing Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) in Aceh Besar district. Comparison is done by
calculating the value of the interpolation RSME. The results obtained showed that
the IDW interpolation method is more accurate in estimating a value close to the
sample provided in comparison with Kriging. However Kriging is more accurate
in predicting the value of the remote location of the sample points.
