xi ABSTRAK Paska damai Gerakan Aceh Merdeka (GAM) melakukan transformasi dengan membentuk partai dan terjun ke ranah politik praktis. Kabupaten Aceh Besar saat ini dipimpin oleh seorang mantan kombatan GAM, kedepan menuju pilkada 2017 Partai Aceh kembali mengusung nama mantan kombatan GAM yaitu Saifuddin Yahya atau yang biasa dikenal Pak Cek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perjuangan mantan kombatan GAM dalam ranah politik di Aceh Besar dan mengetahui faktor pendorong dan penghambat perjuangan mantan kombatan GAM dalam ranah Politik.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dimana data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan sekunder.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perjuangan mantan kombatan GAM dalam ranah politik ditandai dengan adanya proses transformasi yang dilakukan ditubuh GAM, dimana GAM merubah pola gerakan dari bersenjata ke politik. Perjuangan GAM dalam ranah politik juga ditandai dengan perbedaan nasionalisme yang dibangun mantan kombatan GAM saat menjadi GAM dengan menjadi mantan kombatan GAM. Salah satu bentuk perjuangan GAM dalam ranah politik ditandai dengan adanya pencalonan mantan kombatan GAM menjadi Bupati di Aceh Besar . Hasil berikutnya menunjukkan bahwa faktor pendorong dan penghambat GAM dalam ranah politik ditandai dengan beberapa hal. Dimana faktor pendorong terdiri dari adanya Figur, Masyarakat, Jabatan dan Kekuasaan. Sedangkan faktor penghambat terdiri dari perpecahan elit, kepentingan pribadi, dan butir-butir MoU helsinki belum berjalan dengan maksimal. Pada akhirnya peneliti dapat mengambil kesimpulan bahwa Perjuangan mantan kombatan GAM dalam ranah politik dimulai setelah perjanjian damai, para eks kombatan membentuk sebuah partai politik sebagai proses transformasi politik. Hadirnya partai eks kombatan sebagai sarana aspirasi politik. Serta, dalam perjuangannya mantan kombatan dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor yang yang mendorong dan faktor yang menghambat mantan kombatan GAM dalam ranah politik. Kata Kunci: Gerakan Aceh Merdeka,Transformasi, Perjuangan. xii ABSTRACT After being peaceful, Free Aceh Movement (GAM) did a transformation to form a party and entered into the domain of politics. Great Aceh district is currently headed by a former combatant of GAM, next to the election in 2017, Partai Aceh (Aceh Party) again will carry the name of the former combatant of it namely SaifuddinYahya or commonly known as Pak Cek. This research was aimed at determining the struggle of the former combatants of GAM in the domain of politics in Great Aceh and identifying supporting and inhibiting factors of struggle of former combatants of GAM in the domain of politics. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive, where the data which were used in it used primary and secondary data. The result of the research showed that the struggle of the former combatants of GAM in the domain of politics marked by the transformation process undertaken in the body of GAM, where GAM changed the movement pattern from bearing arms to politics. GAM's struggle in the domain of politics was also marked by differences of nationalisms built by the former combatants of GAM at the time to be the combatant of it with being the former combatants of it. One of the forms of GAM's struggle in the domain of politics was characterized by the candidacy of the former combatants of it to be a regent in Great Aceh. The next result showed that the supporting and inhibiting factors of GAM in the domain of politics marked by several things. Namely, the supporting factors consisted of existing of the Figure, Society, Position and Power. While inhibiting factor consisted of elite disunity, personal interests, and the items of MoU Helsinki had not gone up maximally. In the end, the researcher could take a conclusion that the struggle of the former combatants of GAM in the domain of politics began after the peace agreement; the ex -combatants formed a political party as a political transformation process. The presence of the party of the ex-combatants was as a means of political aspirations. As well, in the struggle of the former combatants, it was influenced by supporting factors and inhibiting factors of the combatants of GAM in the domain of politics.
