THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NURSES’ CHARACTERISTICS AND BURNOUT AT GENERAL HOSPITAL OF MEURAXA BANDA ACEH    &#13;

ABSTRACT &#13;
&#13;
Burnout is an emotional exhaustion syndrome, depersonalization, and reducing of self-esteem which are specifically linked to chronic stress from day to day characterized by physical, mental, and mental exhaustion. Individual characteristics involve several components such as age, sex, education level, and working experience. This study aims at finding out the correlation between the characteristics of nurses and burnout at General Hospital of Meuraxa Banda Aceh. This is a descriptive correlative study using cross sectional design. The research population is all the nurses working at wards in the hospital. 66 samples are chosen using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is questionnaire. The data was taken on July 29th to August 3rd, 2016. The data analysis method used is Chi-square by means of computer device. The results show that there is correction between age and burnout (p=0,013), sex and burnout (p=0,017), marital status and burnout (p=0,022), there is no a relationship educational and burnout (p=0,862), there is a relationship between working experience and burnout (p = 0,000), there is a relationship between knowledge and burnout (p = 0.015), there is a relationship between intellectual ability and burnout (p = 0,014), there is a relationship between physical ability and burnout (p = 0,031), there the relationship between the suitability of the job and the ability to burnout (p = 0,028). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the nurses’ characteristics is correlated with burnout. Nurses are expected to manage their stress level in order to minimize the saturation.&#13;

Burnout merupakan sindrom kelelahan emosional, depersonalisasi, dan berkurangnya penghargaan terhadap diri sendiri, secara spesifik dihubungkan dengan stres yang kronis dari hari kehari dan ditandai dengan kelelahan fisik, emosional dan mental. Karakteristik individu meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, pendidikan terakhir dan lama bertugas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan hubungan karakteristik perawat dengan burnout di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Meuraxa Kota Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif; deskriptif korelatif dengan desain cross sectional study. Jumlah populasi 149 orang perawat yang bekerja diruang rawat inap. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling sebanyak 66 orang. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner. Waktu dan tempat penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 29-03 Agustus 2016 di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Meuraxa Kota Banda Aceh. Metode analisis data menggunakan uji statistik Chi-Square dianalisis menggunakan perangkat komputer. Hasil penelitian adalah ada hubungan usia dengan burnout (p=0,013), jenis kelamin dengan burnout (p=0,017), status perkawinan dengan burnout (p=0,022), tidak ada hubungan pendidikan terakhir dengan burnout (p=0,862), ada hubungan antara lama masa kerja dengan burnout (p=0,000), terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan burnout (p=0,015), terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan intelektual dengan burnout (p=0,014), terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan fisik dengan burnout (p=0,031), terdapat hubungan antara kesesuaian pekerjaan dengan kemampuan dengan burnout (p=0,028), Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah karakteristik perawat berhubungan dengan burnout. Perawat diharapkan mampu memanajemen stres sehingga keadaan kejenuhan dalam bekerja tidak terjadi.&#13;
