ABSTRAK Nama : Dara Mulyani Program Studi : Kedokteran Gigi Judul : Penetrasi Minuman Kopi Ulee Kareng pada Elemen Gigi Tiruan Resin Akrilik Elemen gigi tiruan merupakan bagian dari gigi tiruan yang ditempatkan sedemikian rupa sehingga sesuai dengan susunan gigi asli yang hilang. Sifat mudah menyerap cairan yang terjadi secara perlahan-lahan dalam jangka waktu tertentu dapat mempengaruhi stabilitas warna pada elemen gigi tiruan resin akrilik, seperti pada paparan kopi. Penyerapan air pada elemen gigi tiruan resin akrilik juga diikuti oleh penyerapan zat yang terdapat pada kopi salah satunya tannin. Tannin memiliki turunan senyawa seperti asam galat yang merupakan gugus kromofor yang diduga dapat menyebabkan penetrasi warna. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penetrasi minuman kopi Ulee Kareng pada elemen gigi tiruan resin akrilik. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 20 spesimen elemen gigi tiruan resin akrilik yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yaitu perendaman dalam minuman kopi Ulee Kareng dan akuades sebanyak 10 ml selama 2 minggu dan setiap hari diganti minuman kopi dan akuadesnya. Spesimen kemudian dibelah secara vertikal. Pengamatan penetrasi warna dilakukan secara visual oleh 5 orang pengamat dengan membandingkan spesimen yang telah direndam dalam minuman kopi Ulee Kareng dengan akuades. Berdasarkan hasil pada tabel distribusi frekuensi menunjukkan adanya penetrasi warna pada elemen gigi tiruan resin akrilik setelah direndam dalam minuman kopi Ulee Kareng selama 2 minggu.
