ABSTRAK
Pertumbuhan data akademik dalam jumlah besar pada institusi perguruan tinggi tidak dapat dihindari lagi saat ini. Dengan adanya data tersebut, dibutuhkan sebuah Database Management System (DBMS) yang lebih efektif untuk mengelolanya. Salah satu DBMS dengan sistem ketersediaan tinggi yang dapat digunakan adalah MySQL cluster. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa keefektifan dari MySQL cluster pada lingkungan fisik dan Virtual Machine (VM) serta MySQL non-cluster dalam memproses data akademik. Analisa dilakukan melalui pengujian pengiriman sejumlah Structured Query Language (SQL) secara bersamaan dalam waktu yang sama atau disebut dengan Queries per Second (QPS) menggunakan skrip Perl. Parameter pengujian yang diamati adalah waktu respon dan waktu eksekusi terhadap pengiriman sejumlah QPS. Adapun hasilnya, MySQL cluster fisik dapat merespon QPS yang diterima secara statis dan lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan MySQL cluster VM dan MySQL non-cluster. Pada pengujian parameter waktu eksekusi, MySQL cluster fisik dapat mengeksekusi QPS yang diterima secara linear dan lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan MySQL cluster VM dan MySQL non-cluster.

ABSTRACT
The growth of academic data in a large scale within higher education institutions can no longer be avoided anymore today. With that data, a Database Management System (DBMS) will be required to manage it, since DBMS is effective in maintaining large data. One of the DBMS with high system availability is MySQL cluster. This research is aimed to analize the effectiveness of MySQL cluster in physical and Virtual Machine (VM) as well as MySQL non-cluster in processing academic data. The analysis is done by sending a number of Structured Query Language (SQL) at once at the same time or called Queries per Second (QPS) which will be using Perl script. The testing parameters which were measured are the response and execution time against a number of QPS sent. The result of this research is that the physical MySQL cluster can respond faster to the QPS given statically compared to MySQL cluster in VM and MySQL non-cluster. During the testing of execution time parameter, the physical MySQL cluster can execute QPS which were received in a linear fashion and it is faster compared to MySQL cluster in VM and MySQL non-cluster.
