<note>This study aims to find out the kinds of negotiation process activities done by the
students in learning listening. An interaction hyphothesis adopted by Long tells that
interaction fosters acquisition when a communication problem arises and learners are
enganged in negotiation for meaning. In order to investigate this topic, a descriptive
qualitative method used in this study. The instruments of this study were observation
sheet and video record. This study has been conducted at XII IA 1 class of SMA
Negeri 2 Banda Aceh and it was selected by using purposive sampling. The result of
this study has proven the Long’s interaction hyphotesis which showed that leaners
involved in negotiation meaning. There were 5 kinds of negotiation meaning during
learning listening. They were comprehension check, clarification request, repetition,
confirmation, and recast. It can be concluded that students faced the comprehension
difficulties during listening learning in their classroom, and they overcame it through
negotiation process activities. particularly comprehension check.</note>
