<note>This quantitative study was conducted with the aims to examine whether the use of Small Group Discussion Technique improves students’ reading comprehension or not. The samples were 22 students of twelve-grade of junior high school. Reading test was given before and after Small Group Discussion Technique has been applied for four meetings. The reading comprehension which tested was main idea, vocabulary, reference, and inference. The findings showed that there was significant improvement of students’ reading comprehension. It was said on the ttable data distribution that ttable = t(21,0.05) = 1.7207. Meanwhile, tcount = 11.01. Since tcount was higher than ttable (tcount > ttable), thus Ho was refused or Ha was accepted. It means the use of Small Group Discussion improved students’ reading comprehension. Based on the findings, the teacher should consider using this technique as an alternative one in reading classroom and activities. The writer also recommends that the other researchers should conduct an analysis study concerning on the students’ quality of discussion while using Small Group Discussion.</note>
