ABSTRACT
The tittle of this research is Tanggapan Mahasiswa Komunikasi Terhadap
Kompetensi Komunikasi Dosen Dalam Proses Perkuliahan Di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial
Dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Syiah Kuala. The problems of this research are (1) How
the response of Communication Science students about lecturer’s competence
communication in teaching learning at Syiah Kuala University Social and Politic
Science Faculty, (2) How the response of Communication Science students about
performance and teaching learning process that practice by the lecturer in lecturing
process. And the objective of this study are: (1) To find out whether the response of
Communication Science students about lecturer’s competence communication in
teaching learning at Syiah Kuala University Social and Politic Science Faculty. (2)
To find out whether the response of Communication Science students about
performance and teaching learning process that practice by the lecturer in lecturing
process. This methodology is quantitative research. Quantitative is the method which
purpose to developing and using the systematic models. This research was conducted
at Social and Politic Science Faculty and the respondent is Communication Science
students. The supporting theory that used in this research is S-O-R theory. The
population in this research is all of the Communication Science students FISIP
Unsyiah from 2011 until 2013 students, from all the populations are 375 students. the
sample of this research is getting from Slovin formulate s o the respondent become 65
students. To collecting the sample technique is by using Purposive sampling and to
collecting the data collection by using questionnaire. Based on the research result that
had done by the researcher, most of half (53,3%) Communication Science students of
Social and Politic Faculty of Syiah Kuala University realize that competence of
lecturer communication in Communication Science study program is well, but almost
of half students (47,7%) realize in Social and Politic Fa culty especially in
Communication Science study program still lack in building a good relationship with
their learners. Then, half of students (50,7%) answered that some lecturer rarely come
to the class without informing to the students before. So, from a ll of the research we
can conclude that competency of communication of half the lecturer at Social and
Politic Science Faculty is not well yet.
