ABSTARCT
This study examines the influence of multilateral trade natural gas on the
convergence of economic growth in Asia Pasific. Division of the countries grouped
by two trade groups, namely the group of countries that export based and group-based country imports. The data used in this research is panel data period 1990 to
2012. Data were obtained from the website of BP Statistical Review of Energy,
Energy Information website of Administration and the World Bank website.
The model used in this study is a model of Augmented Solow Growth
(restricted and unrestricted regression regression), and conditional convergence of
Augmented Solow Growth Model.
From the results of model estimation obtained evidence that gas
multilateral trade, foreign direct investment and Human capital affects economic
growth and convergence of economic growth is good for export-based trade group
and import-based trade group. Of the three models tested showed that the
coefficient of the larger multilateral trading gas for the restricted regression models
compared with unrestricted regression and conditional convergence of Augmented
Solow Growth Model.
From these results, there are several policy recommendations; first, the
government of each country included in the export-based trade group needs to pay
attention to a sufficient supply of gas consumption in the country before export.
Second: to encourage the convergence of economic growth, the need for support
from the government of each country in improving the competence of human
resources and placement of human resources in accordance with competence in all
areas. Third: more research needs to be done to strengthen the results of this study
on the effect of international trade, especially imports on the convergence of
economic growth by incorporating other variables in the model such as the import
of capital goods.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh perdagangan multilateral gas terhadap
konvergensi pertumbuhan ekonomi di kawasan Asia Pasifik. Pembagian Negara
dikelompokkan berdasarkan dua kelompok perdagangan yaitu kelompok negara
yang berbasis ekspor dan kelompok negara yang berbasis impor. Data yang
digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data panel periode 1990 hingga 2012. Data
diperoleh dari website BP Statistical Review of Energy, website Energy
Information of Administration dan Website Bank Dunia.
Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model Pertumbuhan
Augmented Solow (restricted regression dan unrestricted regression) dan
conditional convergence of Augmented Solow Growth Model.
Dari hasil estimasi model diperoleh bukti bahwa perdagangan multilateral
gas, investasi asing langsung dan Human capital mempengaruhi pertumbuhan
ekonomi dan juga terjadi konvergensi pertumbuhan ekonomi baik untuk kelompok
perdagangan yang berbasis ekspor maupun kelompok perdagangan yang berbasis
impor. Dari ketiga model yang diuji menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien dari
perdagangan multilateral gas lebih besar untuk model restricted regression
dibandingkan dengan unrestricted regression dan conditional convergence of
Augmented Solow Growth Model.
Dari hasil penelitian tersebut terdapat beberapa rekomendasi kebijakan;
pertama, pemerintah masing-masing negara yang termasuk dalam kelompok
perdagangan yang berbasis ekspor perlu memperhatikan kecukupan pasokan untuk
konsumsi gas dalam negeri sebelum melakukan ekspor. Kedua : untuk mendorong
konvergensi pertumbuhan ekonomi, perlunya dukungan dari pemerintah masing-masing negara dalam peningkatan kompetensi sumber daya manusia dan
penempatan sumber daya manusia yang sesuai dengan kompetensi di semua
bidang. Ketiga : perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk memperkuat hasil
penelitian ini tentang pengaruh perdagangan internasional khususnya impor
terhadap konvergensi pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan memasukkan variabel lainnya
ke dalam model seperti impor barang modal.
