ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Komunikasi Interpersonal Orang Tua Terhadap
Kesehatan Mental Remaja Banda Aceh”. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya
prevalensi gangguan kesehatan mental pada remaja di Indonesia, khususnya Aceh. Untuk
menghindari kondisi psikologis tersebut, keterlibatan keluarga dengan berkomunikasi
dengan yang efektif sangatlah di butuhkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
pengaruh dari komunikasi interpersonal orang tua terhadap kesehatan mental di Kota
Banda Aceh. berlandasakan teori Fundamental Interpersonal Relation Orientation
(FIRO) yang dikemukakan oleh Will Schutz. Metode dari penelitian ini menggunakan
pendekatan kuantitatif deskripstif. Dengan teknik purposive sampling. pengumpulan
sample melibatkan 100 responden remaja berusia 18-23 tahun. Menggunakan rumus
slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan (error) 10%. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear
sederhana melalui SPSS versi 25. Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 3,982 >
t tabel sebesar 1,660, dapat disimpulkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal orang tua
memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikansi terhadap kesehatan mental remaja sebesar
13.9%. Peneliti memberikan saran praktis agar orang tua dapat mengimplementasikan
komunikasi dua arah serta institusi pendidikan juga dapat memaksimalkan peran guru
konseling dalam mendukung kesehatan mental remaja. Peneliti berikutnya disarankan
memperluas variabel dan indikator penelitian agar dapat mengkaji lebih mendalam.

ABSTRACT This study is entitle “The Influence of Parental Interpersonal Communication on the Mental Health of Adolescents in Banda Aceh”. The research is motivated by the high prevalence of mental health disorders among adolescents in Indonesia, particulary in Aceh Province. To prevent the worsening of these pychological conditions, family involvement through effective communication is highly required. This study aims to detemine the influence of parental interpersonal communication on adolescent mental health in Banda Aceh. the theoretical framework used is the Fundamental Interpersonal Relation Orientation (FIRO) Theory, formulated by Will Schutz. The research method emplys a descriptie quatitative approach. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique based on the Slovin formula with a 10% error tolerance, involving 100 adolescent respondents aged 1823 years. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression using the SPSS version 25. The t-tes result show tah the t statistic value is 3.982 > t tabel value of 1.660. it can be concluded that parental interpersonal communication has a positive and significant influence on adolescent mental health in Banda Aceh, contributing 13.9%, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factor. The researcher provides practical suggestions for the parenst two-way communication. Education institutions are also expected to maximize the role of counseling teachers in supporting adolesents mental health. For the future researchers, it is recommended to expand the research variables and indicators to examine this issue more deaply.
