ABSTRAK

Kegiatan Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Mangeue, Kecamatan Seulimum dan sekitarnya, Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Provinsi Aceh, secara administratif mencakup luas daerah ±24 km², terletak pada koordinat 5°22'0''–5°26'0'' Lintang Utara dan 95°35'0''–95°37'0'' Bujur Timur. Berdasarkan Peta Geologi Lembar Banda Aceh (Bennet, dkk., 1981), lokasi penelitian tersusun atas beberapa satuan geologi yaitu Formasi Indrapuri (Qpin) yang berumur Plistosen Akhir, Formasi Seulimum (QTps) yang berumur Pliosen Awal, serta Endapan Pyroclastic Flow Batuan Gunung Api Lamteuba (Qvtl) yang berumur Holosen. Formasi Seulimum adalah salah satu formasi batuan penting di wilayah Aceh Besar. Secara geologis, formasi ini umumnya terbentuk dari endapan sedimen laut dangkal (shoreface) hingga lingkungan kipas laut dalam, dan sangat dipengaruhi oleh aktivitas tektonik Sesar Sumatra di sekitarnya, bedasarkan data Hasil pemetaan didapatkan berupa 96 titik singkapan litologi yang beragam dan terbagi ke dalam 7 satuan batuan, yaitu Satuan Batu Pasir Seulimum (Qtps) Satuan Endapan Pyroclastic Flow Lamteuba Lamteuba (Qvtl) Satuan Batu Pasir Tufaan Lamteuba (Qvtl), Satuan Batu Breksi Laharik Lamteuba (Qvtl), Satuan Batu Breksi Piroklastik Lamteuba (Qvtl), Satuan Batu Breksi Vulkanik Lamteba (Qvtl), Satuan Andesit Lamteba (Qvtl), dengan 3 bentuk lahan meliputi Perbukitan Lava Vulkanik (V12), Lereng Vulkanik (V11), Dataran Perbukitan Terkikis Denudasional (D6) dan pola aliran Paralel dan dendritik. Pada Metode analisis Petrografi (thin section) sampel batuan dengan kode RIN 13, RIN 14, dan RIN 67 yang digunakan dalam analisis menghasilkan perhitungan mineral tipe batu pasir Lithic Arenite berdasarkan klasifikasi Pettijohn (1975). Hasil penelitian ini menjadi data awal untuk evaluasi potensi batupasir Formasi Seulimum sebagai reservoir maupun material konstruksi dan pemetaan geologi di wilayah Desa Mangue Kecamatan Seulimum, Kabupaten Aceh Jaya yang lebih detail.

ABSTRACT

This research was conducted in Mangeue Village and its surrounding areas, Seulimum District, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, covering an administrative area of approximately \pm \ 24{\text{\ km}}^{2}. Geographically, the study area is situated between coordinates 5°22'0''–5°26'0'' N and 95°35'0'' - 95°37'0'' E. Based on the Geological Map of the Banda Aceh (Bennet, dkk, 1981). The regional stratigraphy consists of the Late Pleistocene Indrapuri Formation (Qpin), the Early Pliocene Seulimum Formation (QTps), and the Holocene Lamteuba Volcanic Laharic Deposits (Qvtl). The Seulimum Formation represents a crucial sedimentary sequence in the region, deposited within a shallow marine (shoreface) to deep-sea fan environment, and actively influenced by the nearby Sumatra Fault Zone. Field mapping successfully identified 96 lithological outcrops, which were further categorized into seven distinct rock units: the Seulimum Sandstone Unit (Qtps), Lamteuba Pyroclastic Flow Deposit Unit (Qvtl), Lamteuba Tuffaceous Sandstone Unit (Qvtl), Lamteuba Laharic Breccia Unit (Qvtl), Lamteuba Pyroclastic Breccia Unit (Qvtl), Lamteuba Volcanic Breccia Unit (Qvtl), and Lamteuba Andesite Unit (Qvtl). Geomorphological observations revealed three primary landforms Volcanic Lava Hills (V12), Volcanic Slopes (V11), and Denudational Eroded Hilly Plains (D6) characterized by parallel and dendritic drainage patterns. Furthermore, petrographic (thin-section) analysis of samples RIN 13, RIN 14, and RIN 67 classified the sandstone as Lithic Arenite based on the Pettijohn (1975) classification. The results of this study provide critical baseline data for evaluating the reservoir potential and construction material suitability of the Seulimum Formation sandstones, while contributing to more detailed geological mapping in the region.
