bertujuan menganalisis pola distribusi seismisitas, memperbarui parameter sumber
mengestimasi lokasi, kedalaman, magnitudo, origin time, durasi sumber, dan
mekanisme fokal.
seismik. Hasil inversi memperlihatkan pembaruan parameter sumber gempa berupa
perubahan lokasi, kedalaman, magnitudo, origin time, dan mekanisme fokal
dibandingkan katalog USGS.
kondisi tektonik regional Maluku Utara. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode
inversi waveform berbasis Bayesian Bootstrap mampu meningkatkan keandalan
estimasi parameter sumber gempa dan mendukung interpretasi kondisi
seismotektonik di wilayah penelitian.

ABSTRACT The North Maluku region exhibits high seismic activity due to the interaction of the Eurasian, Indo-Australian, Pacific, and Philippine Sea plates which form a double subduction system alongside various active faults. This tectonic complexity leads to uncertainties regarding earthquake source parameters, necessitating more accurate estimation methods. This study aims to analyze seismicity distribution patterns, update earthquake source parameters, and interpret their relationship with the regional tectonic conditions of North Maluku. The data utilized comprise 13 earthquakes with magnitudes ≥5.5 occurring between 2010 and 2026, sourced from the USGS catalog and waveform data from the GEOFON and IRIS seismic networks. Analysis was conducted using the Bayesian Bootstrap-based waveform inversion method within the Grond software, employing the Global_2s Green's Function to estimate location, depth, magnitude, origin time, source duration, and focal mechanism. The results indicate that seismicity distribution patterns align with active tectonic zones in the Maluku Sea, Halmahera, Morotai, Bacan, and the Sorong Fault, all controlled by the double subduction system and regional fault activity. Of the 13 analyzed earthquakes, 11 yielded high-quality inversion solutions characterized by good waveform fit and low misfit values while two events showed lower solution quality due to limitations in data quality and seismic station distribution. The inversion results provide updated earthquake source parameters specifically location, depth, magnitude, origin time, and focal mechanism differing from those in the USGS catalog. Focal mechanisms are dominated by thrust faulting in subduction zones and strike-slip faulting in active fault zones, consistent with the regional tectonic setting of North Maluku. These findings demonstrate that the Bayesian Bootstrap-based waveform inversion method enhances the reliability of earthquake source parameter estimates and supports the interpretation of seismotectonic conditions in the study area.
