ABSTRAK
Aceh memiliki sejarah kemaritiman yang kuat karena letaknya yang strategis di jalur
pelayaran internasional Selat Malaka serta perannya pada masa Kesultanan Aceh Darussalam
hingga perjuangan Laksamana Keumalahayati. Namun, hingga saat ini belum terdapat museum
yang secara khusus mengangkat sejarah dan identitas kemaritiman Aceh secara komprehensif.
Perancangan ini bertujuan menghadirkan Museum Maritim Aceh di Kabupaten Aceh Besar sebagai
pusat edukasi, pelestarian, penelitian, dan wisata budaya maritim melalui pendekatan Arsitektur
Simbiosis yang menekankan hubungan harmonis antara manusia, bangunan, dan lingkungan
pesisir.
Metode perancangan dilakukan melalui analisis tapak, studi literatur mengenai museum
maritim dan Arsitektur Simbiosis, serta studi banding terhadap objek sejenis. Konsep perancangan
diwujudkan melalui bentuk bangunan yang berorientasi ke arah laut, sistem struktur yang
menyesuaikan geometri bangunan, serta penerapan secondary skin yang berfungsi sebagai respons
terhadap iklim tropis sekaligus merepresentasikan identitas maritim Aceh. Ruang-ruang museum
dirancang untuk mendukung fungsi pameran, edukasi, penelitian, dan rekreasi dengan pengalaman
ruang yang bersifat sekuensial melalui pengendalian pencahayaan, penggunaan material bernuansa
tradisional dan modern, serta pemanfaatan teknologi interaktif untuk memperkuat penyampaian
narasi sejarah maritim.
Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Arsitektur Simbiosis mampu
mengintegrasikan nilai sejarah dan budaya maritim Aceh dengan kebutuhan museum modern
sehingga menghasilkan bangunan yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai wadah pelestarian warisan
budaya, tetapi juga menjadi landmark edukatif yang memperkuat identitas kawasan pesisir Aceh
Besar.

ABSTRACT Aceh has a rich maritime history due to its strategic location along the international shipping route of the Strait of Malacca and its significant role during the Aceh Sultanate, including the legacy of Admiral Keumalahayati. However, Aceh currently does not have a museum specifically dedicated to comprehensively preserving and presenting its maritime heritage and identity. This architectural design project aims to develop the Aceh Maritime Museum in Aceh Besar Regency as a center for education, preservation, research, and maritime cultural tourism through the application of the Symbiosis Architecture approach, which emphasizes the harmonious relationship between humans, architecture, and the coastal environment. The design method consists of site analysis, literature review on maritime museums and Symbiosis Architecture, and comparative studies of similar museum projects. The design concept is expressed through a building oriented toward the sea, a structural system that follows the building's geometry, and the application of a secondary skin that responds to the tropical climate while representing Aceh's maritime identity. The museum spaces are designed to accommodate exhibition, educational, research, and recreational functions through a sequential spatial experience supported by controlled lighting, the integration of traditional and modern materials, and interactive technologies that enhance the presentation of Aceh's maritime history. The design demonstrates that the implementation of Symbiosis Architecture successfully integrates Aceh's maritime history and cultural values with the functional requirements of a contemporary museum. As a result, the proposed museum serves not only as a facility for preserving maritime heritage but also as an educational landmark that strengthens the identity of the coastal area of Aceh Besar.
