Keureuto, Desa Hagu, Kecamatan Matangkuli, Kabupaten Aceh Utara. Penelitian ini
mendeskripsikan bentuk dan sikap adaptasi masyarakat berbasis kearifan lokal,
menganalisis penerapan pendekatan Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), serta mengkaji
didukung analisis deskriptif sederhana.
memanfaatkan drainase alami, meskipun implementasinya belum optimal. Integrasi antara
kearifan lokal dan Nature-Based Solutions berpotensi menghasilkan strategi mitigasi banjir

This study aims to analyze the integration of Local Wisdom and Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in flood mitigation within the Krueng Keureuto Watershed, Hagu Village, Matangkuli District, North Aceh Regency. The study describes community adaptation practices and attitudes based on local wisdom, analyzes the implementation of the Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) approach, and examines how the integration of these two approaches can establish an effective, contextual, and sustainable flood mitigation strategy. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. The research informants were selected through purposive sampling and consisted of 21 informants, including village officials, community leaders, and residents affected by recurrent flooding. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by simple descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that the people of Hagu Village continue to preserve various forms of local wisdom in responding to floods, including the construction of stilt houses or elevated houses, mutual cooperation (gotong royong) in cleaning drainage channels, the utilization of local vegetation along riverbanks, and the use of indigenous knowledge to recognize early signs of flooding. However, these practices remain largely individual in nature and have not yet been collectively coordinated. The Nature-Based Solutions approach has been implemented in simple forms, such as preserving vegetation, maintaining water infiltration areas, and utilizing natural drainage systems, although its implementation has not yet been optimal. The integration of Local Wisdom and Nature-Based Solutions has the potential to develop a more effective, contextual, and sustainable flood mitigation strategy by strengthening community participation, conserving ecosystems, and enhancing government policy support. Therefore, stronger collaboration between the community and the government is essential to develop mitigation programs based on local wisdom and nature-based approaches in order to enhance community resilience to flooding in Hagu Village.
