Shallots (*Allium ascalonicum* L.) are an important horticultural commodity that plays a vital role in meeting food needs and supporting the economy. The use of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) and bioencapsulation formulas represents a strategy to enhance plant growth and yield while maintaining bacterial viability in the soil. This study aimed to determine the effects of indigenous rhizobacterial isolates, PGPR bioencapsulation formulas, and their interaction on shallot growth and yield. The research was conducted from August to October 2025 at the Seed Science and Technology Laboratory and Experimental Field I, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, using a 4 × 4 factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The factors tested included four levels of rhizobacterial isolates and four levels of bioencapsulation formulas. Observed variables included vegetative growth, root components, and crop yield components. The results showed that rhizobacterial isolates had a highly significant effect on most growth and yield parameters. Isolate GB 7/1 yielded the best growth during the early phase, whereas isolate BB 7/1 produced the highest fresh bulb weight per clump. Bioencapsulation formulas also had a highly significant effect on most parameters, with the 1% alginate : 0.5% chitosan formula eliciting the best response. Furthermore, the interaction between rhizobacterial isolates and bioencapsulation formulas significantly influenced plant height, number of leaves, number of bulbs, number of tillers, number of roots, and yield weight components of the shallot plants.
