Pengelolaan hutan merupakan aspek penting dalam upaya menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan keberlanjutan sumber daya alam, sekaligus memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar kawasan hutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi model pengelolaan hutan yang diterapkan dan yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan di Kecamatan Ketol, Kabupaten Aceh Tengah dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan pengelolaan hutan di Kecamatan Ketol, Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terstruktur, observasi, dan kuesioner. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan hutan dengan penerapan skema hutan kemasyarakatan (HKm) telah membuka ruang partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan dan pengelolaan sumber daya hutan dengan fokus pemanfaatan hasil hutan, konservasi lingkungan, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat yang didukung oleh pengembangan ekowisata, agrowisata dengan sistem agroforestri, dan inovasi produk hasil hutan bukan kayu (HHBK) berbasis tanaman kopi. Tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan hutan kemasyarakatan (HKm) di Kecamatan Ketol, Kabupaten Aceh Tengah sangat ditentukan oleh sinergi antara aspek sosial, kelembagaan,ekonomi, lingkungan, dan dukungan pemerintah dalam mendukung pengelolaan hutan yang berkelanjutan.

Forest management is a crucial aspect in maintaining ecosystem balance and the sustainability of natural resources, while also providing benefits to communities living around forest areas. This study aims to evaluate the forest management models currently implemented and those with potential for development in Ketol District, Central Aceh Regency, and to identify factors influencing community participation in forest management activities in Ketol District, Central Aceh Regency. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through structured interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The study results indicate that forest management through the implementation of the community forestry (HKm) scheme has opened up opportunities for community participation in the utilization and management of forest resources, focusing on the utilization of forest products, environmental conservation, and community empowerment, supported by the development of ecotourism, agrotourism with agroforestry systems, and innovation in non-timber forest products (NTFPs) based on coffee plants. The level of community participation in community forestry (HKm) management in Ketol District, Central Aceh Regency, is largely determined by the synergy between social, institutional, economic, and environmental aspects, as well as government support for sustainable forest management.
