Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan resepsi siswa SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh terhadap legenda Putri Pukes. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya mengetahui cara siswa sebagai pembaca memaknai karya sastra daerah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 siswa kelas VIII-3 SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh. Data penelitian berupa tanggapan siswa terhadap legenda Putri Pukes yang diperoleh melalui angket terbuka. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori resepsi sastra melalui konsep cakrawala harapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resepsi siswa terhadap legenda Putri Pukes cenderung beragam, tetapi didominasi oleh resepsi yang positif. Sebagian besar siswa mampu menerima cerita dengan mengenali peristiwa-peristiwa utama, menanggapi tokoh beserta tindakannya, serta menangkap hubungan sebab-akibat dalam cerita. Selain itu, siswa juga menunjukkan keterlibatan emosional yang kuat terhadap dinamika konflik di dalam cerita. Sebagian besar siswa menilai bahwa cerita Putri Pukes menarik, mudah diapresiasi, serta mengandung nilai moral yang masih relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, seperti kepatuhan kepada orang tua, tanggung jawab, menjaga janji, dan kasih sayang terhadap keluarga. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa resepsi siswa tidak hanya terbatas pada penerimaan isi cerita, tetapi juga mencakup penilaian, respons emosional, dan kemampuan mengaitkan cerita dengan pengalaman pribadi. Variasi resepsi tersebut dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman, pengetahuan, dan lingkungan sosial yang memengaruhi cakrawala harapan pembaca.

This study aims to describe the reception of students at SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh toward the legend of Putri Pukes. This research is motivated by the importance of knowing how students, as readers, interpret local literary works. This study utilizes a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The subjects of this research were 30 students of class VIII-3 at SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh. The research data consists of students' responses to the legend of Putri Pukes, obtained through open-ended questionnaires. The data were analyzed using literary reception theory through the concept of the horizon of expectation. The results show that the students' reception of the legend of Putri Pukes tends to be diverse, but is dominated by positive reception. Most students are able to accept the story by recognizing the main events, responding to the characters and their actions, and grasping the cause-and-effect relationships within the story. In addition, students also demonstrate strong emotional involvement in the dynamics of the conflict in the story. Most students consider the story of Putri Pukes to be interesting, easily appreciated, and containing moral values that are still relevant to daily life, such as obedience to parents, responsibility, keeping promises, and affection toward family. The results also indicate that students' reception is not limited only to the acceptance of the story's content, but also encompasses evaluation, emotional response, and the ability to relate the story to personal experience. This variation in reception is influenced by experience, knowledge, and the social environment that shape the reader's horizon of expectation.
