kelangsungan hidup tidak berbeda nyata (p > 0,05) antar perlakuan, sedangkan pertumbuhan berat mutlak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan, di mana P1 (1,07 ± 0,29 g) lebih tinggi dibandingkan P2 (0,96 ± 0,27 g). Nilai kelangsungan hidup pada masing-masing perlakuan yaitu 87 ± 6% (P1) dan 90 ± 10% (P2). Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun kandungan protein pakan dengan penambahan tepung limbah ikan tongkol lebih tinggi, hal tersebut belum mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan secara optimal. Oleh karena itu, pakan komersil tanpa penambahan tepung limbah ikan tongkol masih lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan berat ikan patin.

Striped catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) is a freshwater aquaculture commodity with high economic value; however, feed costs, which account for 60 - 70% of total production expenses, remain a major constraint. The utilization of skipjack tuna waste (Euthynnus affinis) as a feed additive is expected to be an alternative solution to reduce costs without compromising fish growth performance. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of commercial feed and commercial feed supplemented with tuna waste meal on the growth and survival rate of striped catfish. The experiment was conducted for 30 days using two treatments: P1 (commercial feed) and P2 (commercial feed supplemented with tuna waste meal). Proximate analysis showed that P2 had a higher crude protein content (28.27%) compared to P1 (21.04%). However, the results indicated that absolute length growth and survival rate were not significantly different (p > 0.05) between treatments, while absolute weight growth showed a significant difference, with P1 (1.07 ± 0.29 g) higher than P2 (0.96 ± 0.27 g). The survival rates were 87 ± 6% for P1 and 90 ± 10% for P2. These findings suggest that although the protein content of the supplemented feed was higher, it did not improve fish growth performance. Therefore, commercial feed without the addition of tuna waste meal remains more effective in promoting weight gain in striped catfish.
