Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pembinaan perilaku prososial siswa sebagai aspek pendidikan karakter, terutama mengingat maraknya kasus perilaku antisosial di kalangan remaja SMP di Banda Aceh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui upaya yang dilakukan guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) dalam membina perilaku prososial siswa SMP Negeri Banda Aceh serta mengidentifikasi hambatan-hambatan yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap sepuluh guru BK di SMP Negeri 3, SMP Negeri 14 dan SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh di Banda Aceh. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru BK melaksanakan upaya pembinaan prososial secara terencana melalui layanan bimbingan kelompok, bimbingan klasikal, dan pemanfaatan media bimbingan. Upaya tersebut meliputi pemilihan topik kontekstual, permainan dan simulasi sosial, diskusi kelas, role play, pembelajaran sebaya, serta pemanfaatan kasus nyata dan media visual atau video yang menekankan nilai menolong, berbagi, kerja sama, dan empati. Hambatan yang dihadapi antara lain perbedaan karakter dan minat belajar siswa, partisipasi siswa yang belum merata, keterbatasan waktu dan fasilitas layanan BK, serta kurang optimalnya dukungan lingkungan keluarga. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa peran guru BK sangat strategis dalam membentuk karakter sosial siswa melalui layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang berkelanjutan, meskipun efektivitasnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal.

ABSTRACT Muhammad Saleh (2026). The Efforts of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in Fostering Students’ Prosocial Behavior at Public Junior High Schools in Banda Aceh. Undergraduate Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Supervised by Drs. Martunis, M.Si., and Fitra Marsela, M.Pd. This study is motivated by the importance of fostering students’ prosocial behavior as an essential aspect of character education, particularly in response to the increasing incidence of antisocial behavior among junior high school students in Banda Aceh. The objectives of this study are to identify the efforts undertaken by Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers in fostering students’ prosocial behavior at public junior high schools in Banda Aceh and to examine the obstacles encountered in the implementation of these efforts. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews involving ten GC teachers from Public Junior High School 3, Public Junior High School 14, and Public Junior High School 8 in Banda Aceh. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that GC teachers implement planned prosocial development efforts through group guidance services, classical guidance, and the utilization of guidance media. These efforts include the selection of contextual topics, social games and simulations, classroom discussions, role-playing activities, peer learning, and the use of real-life cases as well as visual or video media, all of which emphasize values such as helping behavior, sharing, cooperation, and empathy. The obstacles identified include differences in students’ character traits and learning interests, unequal student participation, limited time and facilities for GC services, and insufficient support from the family environment. Overall, the results affirm that the role of GC teachers is highly strategic in shaping students’ social character through continuous guidance and counseling services, although their effectiveness is influenced by both internal and external factors.
