Academic achievement pada mahasiswa direpresentasikan melalui Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK). IPK yang rendah tidak hanya mengindikasikan kesulitan akademik, namun berimplikasi pada keberlanjutan pendidikan dan prospek karier. Salah satu faktor psikologis yang berpotensi meningkatkan academic achievement pada mahasiswa adalah perceived parental expectation, yaitu persepsi individu terhadap harapan orang tua kepada mereka. Mahasiswa yang memiliki persepsi bahwa orang tua memiliki harapan yang tinggi cenderung menunjukkan usaha dalam memenuhi harapan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara perceived parental expectation dengan academic achievement pada mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah propotionate stratified random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 344 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala Perception of Parental Expectation Inventory(PPEI) yang bersifat multidimensi dan di adaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia serta nilai IPK sebagai indikator academic achievement. Analisis data menggunakan Pearson Product Moment Correlation dengan hasil signifikansi p = 0.000 (

Academic achievement in university students is represented by Grade Point Average (GPA). A low GPA not only indicates academic difficulties, but also has implications for educational continuity and career prospects. One psychological factor that has the potential to improve academic achievement in university students is perceived parental expectation, which is an individual's perception of their parents' expectations toward them. Students who have the perception that their parents have high expectations tend to show effort in fulfilling those expectations.This study aims to examine the relationship between perceived parental expectation and academic achievement in university students. The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified random sampling with a total sample of 344 university students. The research instrument was the multidimensional Perception of Parental Expectation Inventory (PPEI) scale which was adapted into Indonesian, and GPA scores as an indicator of academic achievement.
