ABSTRACT ASSOCIATION SERUM VITAMIN D 25-OH WITH NUTRITIONAL STATUS IN PATIENTS NON-VIRAL LIVER CIRRHOSIS IN RSUD ZAINOEL ABIDIN Background: Non-viral liver cirrhosis is a health problem with an increasing prevalence and is frequently accompanied by impaired nutritional status. Vitamin D plays an important role in its pathogenesis through anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects and is also associated with alterations in body composition. However, the relationship between serum 25-OH vitamin D and nutritional status in patients with non-viral liver cirrhosis has not been widely studied in Indonesia. Objective: To determine the association between serum 25-OH vitamin D and nutritional status in patients with non-viral liver cirrhosis at Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh. Methods: This study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design conducted at Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh, from March to December 2025, involving 40 patients calculated using the Slovin formula. Patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria underwent serum 25-OH vitamin D measurement using the ELISA method. Nutritional status was assessed using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Data were analyzed using the non-parametric Spearman correlation test, and results were considered statistically significant if p < 0.05. Results: A total of 40 patients with non-viral liver cirrhosis were included in this study. Most patients had 25-OH vitamin D deficiency. Nutritional status assessed using BIA parameters showed variable results in body mass index, total body water, protein mass, mineral mass, percent body fat, body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, skeletal massindex, segmental lean analysis, and segmental fat analysis. Significant correlations were found only between 25-OH vitamin D with percent body fat and body fat mass (r = 0.386; p < 0.032 and r = 0.364; p < 0.007). Conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship with a weak positive correlation between 25-hydroxyvitamin D with percent body and body fat mass. Keywords: 25-hydroxyvitamin D, nutritional status, BIA, non-viral liver cirrhosis.
