Jahe merupakan salah satu komoditas biofarmaka unggulan yang berperan penting dalam perekonomian petani di Kecamatan Putri Betung Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Namun, dalam beberapa tahun terakhir terjadi penurunan luas panen dan produksi jahe yang diduga berkaitan dengan rendahnya kompetensi teknis petani serta belum optimalnya penerapan teknologi budidaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed methods dengan pendekatan survei terhadap 72 petani jahe yang dipilih secara acak. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Kompetensi teknis petani diukur melalui tahapan budidaya jahe, sedangkan penerapan teknologi budidaya meliputi penggunaan mulsa plastik, pupuk organik, dan pestisida nabati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi teknis petani dan tingkat penerapan teknologi budidaya jahe tergolong rendah hingga sedang. Uji korelasi menunjukkan hubungan positif namun sangat lemah dan tidak signifikan antara kompetensi teknis petani dan tingkat penerapan teknologi budidaya jahe.

Ginger is one of the leading biofarmaca commodities that plays an important role in farmers’ livelihoods in Putri Betung Sub-district, Gayo Lues Regency. However, in recent years, a decline in harvested area and ginger production has occurred, which is presumed to be related to low farmers’ technical competence and suboptimal adoption of cultivation technology. This study employed a mixed methods approach with a survey of 72 randomly selected ginger farmers. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations, and analyzed descriptively using the Spearman Rank correlation test. Farmers’ technical competence was measured based on ginger cultivation practices, while technology adoption included the use of plastic mulch, organic fertilizers, and botanical pesticides. The results indicate that farmers’ technical competence and the level of ginger cultivation technology adoption are categorized as low to moderate. The correlation analysis shows a positive but very weak and insignificant relationship between farmers’ technical competence and the adoption of ginger cultivation technology.
