Refraksi adalah proses pembiasan cahaya yang terjadi ketika cahaya memasuki mata dan difokuskan pada retina. Proses ini melibatkan berbagai komponen mata, termasuk kornea, lensa, dan vitreous humor. Ketika cahaya masuk ke mata, kornea dan lensa membengkokkan cahaya sehingga gambar yang diterima dapat difokuskan dengan jelas pada retina. Jika proses refraksi ini tidak berjalan dengan baik, maka akan terjadi kelainan refraksi, yang dapat menyebabkan penglihatan kabur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain observasional analitik dan metode cross-sectional (potong lintang). Desain ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara variabel tingkat pengetahuan kelainan refraksi dan kejadian kelainan refraksi pada siswa SD Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa di SD Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh yang menjawab pertanyaan dengan kurang mengalami kelainan refraksi, yaitu sebanyak 14 siswa (56,0%). Sedangkan siswa dengan tingkat pengetahuan baik tidak mengalami kelainan refraksi, sebanyak 81 siswa (94,2%). Penurunanan tingkat ketajam refraksi biasanya tidak disadari oleh siswa karena pemahaman siswa terhadap kondisi yang terjadi masih belum maksimal. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Rank Spearman, hasil menunjukan P-value sebesar 0,0001. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan kelainan refraksi dengan kelainan refraksi pada siswa SD Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh.

Refraction is the process of refraction of light that occurs when light enters the eye and is focused on the retina. This process involves various components of the eye, including the cornea, lens, and vitreous humor. When light enters the eye, the cornea and lens bend the light so that the received image can be focused clearly on the retina. If this refraction process does not go well, refractive disorders will occur, which can cause blurred vision. This research uses a quantitative approach with an analytical observational design and cross-sectional methods. This design aims to analyze the relationship between the variable level of knowledge of refractive errors and the incidence of refractive errors in Al-Azhar Elementary School students in Cairo, Banda Aceh. The results of this study showed that students at Al-Azhar Elementary School in Cairo, Banda Aceh, answered questions with fewer refractive errors, namely 14 students (56.0%). Meanwhile, 81 students (94.2%) with a good level of knowledge did not experience refractive errors. The decrease in the level of refraction sharpness is usually not realized by students because students' understanding of the conditions that occur is still not optimal. The results of data analysis using the Spearman Rank correlation test, the results show a P-value of 0.0001. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of refractive errors and refractive errors in Al-Azhar Elementary School students in Cairo, Banda Aceh.
