Motif tekstil merupakan bagian penting dalam perkembangan industri fashion,
khususnya Indonesia yang memiliki beraneka ragam budaya dan tradisi yang dapat
dijadikan inspirasi dalam penciptaan motif tekstil. Tradisi seumulueng di Aceh
Jaya, merupakan tradisi menyuapi raja yang dilaksanakan secara turun-temurun
oleh masyarakat Aceh Jaya setiap tahun pada hari ketiga Idul Adha, sebagai bentuk
penghormatan kepada keturunan Raja. Penelitian ini berupaya mengeksplorasi
tradisi seumuleung sebagai sumber ide dalam pengembangan motif tekstil,
bertujuan mendesain, dan menerapkan motif pada kemeja pria formal serta
mengetahui tanggapan informan terhadap produk yang dihasilkan. Penelitian
menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan purposive sampling terdahap tiga
informan, yaitu tokoh adat, ketua majelis adat Aceh Jaya dan ketua harian Dewan
Kerajinan Nasional Daerah Aceh Jaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui eksplorasi,
eksperimen, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemudian dianalisis secara bertahap
melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa eksplorasi terhadap tradisi seumuleung menghasilkan
beberapa elemen visual, seperti siluet tangan yang menyuapi raja sebagai inti
prosesi, bentuk bangunan tempat pelaksanaan tradisi, serta flora lokal Aceh Jaya
sebagai elemen pendukung. Motif diaplikasikan pada media tekstil dengan
menggunakan teknik printing, dan menghasilkan dua kemeja pria formal dengan
motif yang sama, namun peletakannya yang berbeda. Tanggapan informan
menunjukkan apresiasi positif terhadap motif dan produk kemeja yang dihasilkan,
mereka menegaskan bahwa pengangkatan tradisi lokal menjadi motif tekstil
merupakan langkah strategis dalam pelestarian budaya, penguatan identitas daerah,
serta berpotensi menjadi produk unggulan yang mendukung ekonomi kreatif.

Textile motifs are an important part of the development of the fashion industry, especially Indonesia which has a variety of cultures and traditions that can be used as inspiration in the creation of textile motifs. The tradition of seumulueng in Aceh Jaya, is a tradition of feeding the king which is carried out for generations by the people of Aceh Jaya every year on the third day of Eid al-Adha, as a form of respect for the descendants of the King This research seeks to explore the tradition of seumuleung as a source of ideas in the development of textile motifs, aiming to design, and apply motifs on formal men's shirts and find out the response of informants to the products produced. The research used a qualitative approach with purposive sampling with three informants, namely traditional leaders, the chairman of the Aceh Jaya customary assembly and the daily chairman of the Aceh Jaya Dekranasda. Data is collected through exploration, experimentation, interviews and documentation. Then it is analyzed gradually through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the exploration of the seumuleung tradition produces several visual elements, such as the silhouette of the hand that feeds the king as the core of the procession, the shape of the building where the tradition is carried out, and the local flora of Aceh Jaya as a supporting element. The motif is applied to textile media using printing techniques, and produces two formal men's shirts with the same motif, but different placements. The response of the informants showed a positive appreciation for the motifs and products of the shirts produced, they emphasized that the adoption of local traditions into textile motifs is a strategic step in preserving culture, strengthening regional identity, and has the potential to become superior products that support the creative economy.
