Perkembangan industri mode khususnya fast fashion, memicu pola konsumsi
pakaian yang berlebihan dan berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Sebagai
respons terhadap permasalahan tersebut, konsep capsule wardrobe muncul sebagai
pendekatan berkelanjutan yang menekankan penggunaan jumlah pakaian yang
sedikit namun fungsional dan berkualitas tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui tingkat interpretasi mahasiswa Tata busana terhadap konsep capsule
wardrobe, tingkat implementasi sustainable fashion, dan mengetahui pengaruh
interpretasi capsule wardrobe terhadap implementasi sustainable fashion.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif
kausal. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa kuesioner dengan skala Likert
yang disebarkan kepada 140 mahasiswi Tata Busana. Hasil analisis deskriptif
menunjukkan bahwa interpretasi mahasiswa terhadap capsule wardrobe berada
pada kategori sedang (67,9%). Implementasi sustainable fashion juga berada pada
kategori sedang (70%). Hasil uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menghasilkan
nilai r sebesar 0,730 dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,001 yang menunjukkan
hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kedua variabel. Analisis regresi linear
sederhana menunjukkan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0,730 dan nilai signifikansi
0,001 < 0,05 yang menandakan bahwa interpretasi capsule wardrobe memberikan
pengaruh signifikan terhadap implementasi sustainable fashion.Berdasarkan
temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi interpretasi mahasiswa
terhadap konsep capsule wardrobe maka semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan
mereka dalam menerapkan prinsip sustainable fashion. Penelitian ini menekankan
pentingnya penguatan edukasi serta nilai-nilai keberlanjutan dalam pendidikan
mode guna meningkatkan kesadaran dan mendorong praktik sustainable secara
lebih luas.

The development of the fashion industry particularly fast fashion, has triggered excessive clothing consumption patterns that negatively impact the environment. In response to these issues, the concept of the capsule wardrobe has emereged as a sustainable approach that empahasizes the use of a limited number of functional an high-quality garments. This study aims to identify the level of interpretation of Fashion Design students regarding the capsule wardrobe concept, the level of sustainable fashion implementation, and to determine the influence of capsule wardrobe interpretation on sustainable fashion implementation. This research employs a quantitative approach with a casual associative design. The researsch instrument used was a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 140 Fashion Design students, the descriptive analysis results show that students interpretation of the capsule wardrobe concept falls into the moderate category (67,9%). The implementation of sustainable fashion is also categorized as moderate (70%). The Pearson Product Moment correlation test yielded an r- value of 0,730 with significance level of 0,001, indicating a positive and significant relationship between the two variables. The simple linear regression analysis produced a regression coefficient of 0.730 and a significance value of 0,001 < 0.05, signifying that capsule wardrobe interpretation has a significant influence on sustaianble fashion implementation. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the higher the students’ interpretation of the capsule wardrobe concept, the higher their tendency to apply sustainable fashion principles. This study highlights the importance of strengthening education and sustainability values within fashion education to enhance awareness and encourage broader sustainable practices.
